Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has introduced more stringent regulations for flight attendants flying to #Canada and #European countries. This comes as a response to recent occurrences where staff members reportedly "slipped away" after reaching these destinations. The airline has now imposed an age limit for air hostesses and flight stewards traveling to these regions. Gulf Carriers soar in On-Time Performance rankings with Oman Air taking World’s Best at 92.3%. Gulf carriers featured high in the rankings for top on-time performers among the world’s airlines in tables published by Cirium recently. In the top 10 listing for ‘Global Airlines’ Qatar Airways finished third with 85.11%. Saudia was 9th with 81.29% of on-time arrivals. Colombia’s avianca was top with 86.73%. But Oman Air appeared to be the World’s best-performing airline with a 92.3% on-time performance. What's happening with airlines in the Middle East region this month? - Emirates has the most seats in August: 3.3M - Etihad remains the fastest growing airline in the region this month, with capacity up 30% year on year.  This equates to an increase of 254,000 seats. - In terms of volume increases, SAUDI AIRLINES leads with 291,000 additional seats, equivalent to an increase of 11% on last August. - Two other Saudi carriers - flynas and flyadeal are also recording strong growth, up 17% and 12% respectively. #Infomartive #Aviationdaily #Marketgrowth #Middleeast

🛫 Great interview during AviaDev from Michael Jonga and our partners at AeroTime and as always huge value and candour delivered by Rodger Foster. Consolidation through airline relationships is the future - perfect timing with the Qatar Airways equity investment announcement. SAATM should be there to open new markets, not just open competition on existing routes (something I agree with 100% and I believe this was the original concept). However, these new markets need to show potential that they can be profitable or they will stay unserved- having the rights and exercising them are different. The starting point is discussing and understand g their various merits… I’m excited that AviaDev delivered over 1200 pre-arranged meetings at AviaDev in Namibia between African airports and airlines and seeing announcements such as the new Air Botswana routes and others gives me cause for optimism. The unserved route opportunity for Africa is something we looked at via our recent connectivity report with Airbus. Two of Europe's flag carriers, ITA Airways and LOT Polish Airlines have entered the Saudi Arabian market this summer. The Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP) | برنامج الربط الجوي has clearly been attracting new carriers to the country, but AIR SERVICE ONE analysis of Cirium data shows that Europe-Saudi seat capacity in July 2024 is actually 5% DOWN versus the same month last year. The top 6 airlines in the market and their capacity change since last July: SAUDI AIRLINES (+7%) flynas (-3%) Turkish Airlines (-27%) flyadeal (+62%) Pegasus Airlines (-7%) Wizz Air (-50%) Wizz Air had ranked 4th in July 2023 but now only operates eight routes between Europe and Saudi Arabia compared with 21 a year ago.
