I started my journey in the IT industry like many others, eager to find a place where I could learn, grow, and earn. ⭐ How To Ask For Help ⭐   After joining en world Japan K.K., I used to feel nervous about asking for help in a new environment with new people who seemed very busy. I avoided asking for help as much as possible. However, I realized it's not only natural for new graduates to seek assistance but also expected of them. That's when I learned one of the most important mindsets that I think any new graduate should have when joining the workforce. It might seem simple, but it tells a lot about you. This mindset is, "Always Be Prepared Before Asking For Help".   🌠 Below is what I learned to prepare before asking for help:- 1-Try your best on your task before asking for help. 2-Organize in a note, what you did and what the results are. 3-Pinpoint the problem and figure out where the bottleneck is. 4-Suggest some alternative solutions that you'd like advice on. 5-Summarize the above and present it to whom you are asking for help.    This has helped me stay sharp, clear, and concise in getting my point across to my busy colleagues who are supporting me. Lastly, never forget to say "Thank you" to all those who helped and gave their time. How time is flying!!! It's now coming up to exactly 3 months this Friday since I along with the rest of my colleagues were made redundant. This is the lowest and most frustrated I've ever felt trying to secure a new role to the point its making me feel unemployable and what am I going to do now which is ridiculous given my experience gained over almost 8 years in the sector. I've never been this long out of work, nor have I had as many applications rejected or interviews without securing a role based on not having managed clients within specific sectors. Before joining GKA I hadn't any experience of Telecoms yet I managed 1 client for almost 4 years that grew to be the company's single largest employer for new starts year on year with the highest success rate. I managed the programme to within an inch of its life to make it the success it was. This was down to my drive, professionalism, management, communication and ability to forge professional and personal relationships with leaders and mentors. Every Friday I would have a catch-up meeting with my manager and every week he'd say "I've nothing to say Rich you've got everything in-hand". You can learn a new sector, you can learn a new standard so employers/recruiters please don't overlook good people who have experience, the personality and figures to back up their success. Hiring managers, have a conversation around the CV, talk about the candidates experience, challenges, figures, success and let it flow naturally so you get to see that persons passion for what they do and why they do it, not asking 5-point competency questions which let's be honest make most people uncomfortable and is so robotic! There are only so many jobs around the house that need doing and box sets you can watch and I'm more hungry than ever to get back doing what I love and seeing learners achieve. Wrapped up my first week at Explori and it's been a fantastic start! I've jumped right into learning about our projects, and it's been exciting to learn the ropes and see how things operate from the inside. My first tip from my first week is to ask questions! Don't hesitate to ask questions, no matter how small or big. It’s the quickest way to learn and get up to speed. Especially ask questions about the business in whole so you have a comprehensive understanding of all the operations. My next tip is to build relationships! Take the time to introduce yourself to colleagues and learn about their roles. It helps to understand the bigger picture and creates a strong network from day one. I was treated to lunch with Chloe Richardson and Lauren Martingell which gave us the perfect opportunity on my first day to get to know eachother and feel incredibly welcome. (Thank you both!) Next tip is a given but stay organised! Don't wait until you are given a project to execute a few weeks in to then start implementing self organisation. Starting from day one when you are learning lots of new information quickly as it will help you build a good working routine and schedule. There’s a lot of new information coming at you quickly, so keeping notes and staying organised is key to staying on top of everything. Last tip is to embrace the company culture. Every company has its own culture—observe, participate, and embrace it. It helps you settle in faster and makes the experience more enjoyable. It's been two weeks since I joined this office, marking a positive shift in my career journey. Previously, I faced challenges finding the right fit after leaving my previous role due to the company's ethical concerns. Now, I am feeling fulfilled and have different perspective. My time at Saaskart has been great. People often say learning takes time, but I've found that if you're eager to learn, you can pick things up quickly. When I asked about training period, Saaskart founder Prateek Mathur sir said, "You've had six internships to learn from; now it's time to apply what you've learned in corporate settings over the past year." That was something, unlike anything I've experienced in my 20's. I am grateful to be a part of this organisation. Working here provided me insights such as - • Forming Better Connection • Communicating More Politely • Being Down to Earth and Helping Colleagues • Importance of Being Supportive Thanks to Priyanshi Jain ma'am who is my senior, then colleague, and is now HR. Her committed support led me to this opportunity. She demonstrates exceptional HR who handles her work with professionalism. Our community manager Abhinav Dhamija sir my former senior, brings energy and a calming presence to our team dynamic. I didn't fully grasp his nature and contributions, but now I appreciate his energy and peace to the work culture. In ultimate consideration, The entire team isn't just colleagues; the authentic teamwork, which is rare in today's corporate world. Last week was the #internationalwomenday and what an inspiring way to celebrate it by job shadowing none other than Dr. Jutta Häusler, Global Vice President - Head of HR at Giesecke+Devrient. In today's dynamic work environment, job shadowing has emerged as a valuable tool for career exploration and professional development. Jutta was a treat for the job shadowing, she introduced me to her busy calendar, team meetings, one on one, board meetings etc. In between we shared valuable reflections and feedback sessions. Some key notes from my job shadowing which may interest you: 1) Real role of an HR in an organization -> HR encompasses a strategic approach to managing an organization's workforce, focusing on talent acquisition, employee development, diversity and inclusion, and fostering a positive workplace culture to align with overall business objectives. 2) Importance of a Growth Mindset -> Embracing a Growth Mindset fosters resilience, a willingness to take on challenges, and a view that failures are opportunities for learning and improvement. 3) Delegation -> Knowing when and how to delegate tasks empowers team members and promotes efficiency. 4) Empathy-> Understanding and considering the perspectives and feelings of others builds strong relationships. 5) Embracing conflicts -> Put the fish on the table.
