Integrating and improving productivity solutions at LinkedIn

Today is my 16th work anniversary at LinkedIn. For fun I dug out this photo taken in May 2009, after I had been working for 10 months and LinkedIn just had signed up its 40 millionth member. (Yes, I'm in the photo, so you can squint and play "Where's Tony") In those days no one knew what the future would bring, but I think we all felt that we were building something special that would touch people in ways that had never been accomplished before. Back then when we'd release code, we'd quaintly shutdown the entire site for a few hours and put up the LinkedIn Wizard image. (Sometimes the site wouldn't start up again afterwards, but that's a story for another time...) People ask me why I'm still at LinkedIn on occasion and I always tell them it's because at least for me, even with all the change, the Wizard's magic still happens every day. Whether it's your first day at a new job or your twentieth year, always look for that something special that touches your spirit in whatever you do.
