The first QuantumReady consortium meeting took place at Johannes Kepler University Linz. The project partners identified promising use cases with HAKOM Time Series and ESS, and have already started the development of corresponding models for #Quantumcomputing. Specifically, HAKOM Time Series is researching the optimization of energy generation from hydropower, while ESS is focusing on enhancing the work of robots in the sealing of vehicles. It was essential to assess areas where quantum computing may not be suitable, and although various use cases were examined, a significant number were ultimately regarded as unpromising. This year, the focus is on developing proof-of-concept implementations, to be simulated on QMware AG systems and subsequently tested on real quantum computers in the second half of the year. An important step forward in undestanding battery 🔋 degration effects has just been 📢 published 📜 in the Royal Society of Chemistry's journal Energy and Environmental Science. A team bringing #industry and academia together used #neutron and #Xray imaging to identify a concrete effect that degrades performance. Surprisingly, this particular effect does not come with age: it is there since the first time the battery is put to work. Great example of battery research showing the power of combining different views: combining state-of the-art neutrons and X-rays techniques in a really integrated way in data taking, analysis & interpretation.
