When it comes to Quantum technology, Colorado’s 34 Federally-funded research labs, top universities, and ranking as the second most educated population in the U.S. make it the prime candidate to grow with help from the Federal Quantum Tech Hub Grant Award. This support will directly fund the implementation of Elevate Quantum’s initiatives, including education and workforce development programs planned for western Colorado. 📣 Exciting news: Martin Doškář, my former Ph.D. student and current colleague, joins the Czech Science Foundation project on "Smart modeling of inelastic behavior in heterogeneous materials" as a co-principal investigator! ✨ This collaborative effort between Brno University of Technology and Czech Technical University in Prague aims to enhance the computational efficiency of discrete models of inelastic heterogeneous materials. The Brno team involves Jan Eliáš (as the principal investigator) and Lukáš Novák and will contribute their expertise in discrete models, asymptotic homogenization, and machine learning techniques. The Prague team, comprising Martin Doškář and Milan Jirasek, will focus on domain decomposition techniques for highly heterogeneous problems and modeling of localized inelastic phenomena. Step into Kamaldeep Dalal 's journey as an InnovaXN #PhD student. 💥 💾 "I am investigating a device structure for storing information which has been proposed by Microsoft" Kamaldeep investigates the structure and magnetic behaviour of samples that are a few nanometers thick using polarised neutron reflectrometry. 💡"Of the six samples we designed during this study, three of them show really good results" Episode #6 (and the final one!) on the experience six of the 40 PhD students who took part of this adventure, both at ILL - Institut Laue-Langevin and ESRF - The European Synchrotron. InnovaXN is an EU-funded project that aims to bridge the gap between research and industry, by creating a doctoral training network linking EU world-class research facilities, academia and the needs of EU industry. Yesterday, I had the pleasure to participate in this year’s edition of the Quantum Carla Symposium at La Pedrera, where I got introduced to the state of the art and future goals of quantum technologies and computing. I personally want to underline the talks given by ICFO professors and alumni, which helped me understand how a career in the research landscape looks like. Also, thanks to the current PhD candidates and Postdoctoral researches which were present at the event, I could settle some thoughts and doubts about the doctorate period. I am really looking forward to next year’s edition! #quantumscience #symposium

2️⃣ 0️⃣ 2️⃣ 5️⃣ was declared by the United Nations as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology! On Friday last week, the United Nations proclaimed that this will be a year-long and global initiative that will "be observed through activities at all levels aimed at increasing public awareness of the importance of #quantum #science and applications." This initiative aims to boost national capacities in basic sciences and education, highlighting #quantumscience's contributions to understanding the universe and its critical role in sustainable solutions for energy, education, communications, and health.
