Most mortgage brokers don’t do this powerful yet often neglected strategy to significantly boost revenue. Many professionals underestimate follow-up due to its seemingly time-consuming nature or because they fail to see its true potential, allowing valuable leads to vanish unnoticed. I get it—I used to be in the same boat. In the past, if a prospect didn’t respond or declined, I’d write it off as a lost cause. But experience taught me otherwise. Just last month, I secured a new client from an email I originally sent back in February. Initially, the client turned me down. However, I set a reminder in my CRM to follow up a few months later, and now we’re successfully working together. This approach is equally effective with mortgage leads. For instance, one of our debt consolidation refinance leads finally responded to our fifth automated follow-up last week, resulting in a scheduled meeting this afternoon. This principle underscores the adage, "fortune is in the follow-up." Think about someone you connected with months ago and reach out again.
