Leaning into a company's #Disability-focused resource group is a great way to further include professionals with #Disabilities and increase #DisabilityAwareness by hosting events, trainings, or sharing resources. During #DEAM this year, I'm thrilled to engage BD and its Limitless Associate Resource Group and contribute to an engaging discussion with Tom Polen, BD's Chairman, CEO & President, as we explore how BD is advancing #a11y and equity at BD. If you are curious to learn more about the company's inclusion journey, I encourage you to check out the link in the post below. #DisabilityInclusion
Every day we create unlimited possibilities and innovative solutions for our associates, customers, and patients in the communities we serve. As we recognize Disability Employment Awareness Month, our Limitless Associate Resource Group will lead us in a variety of events, including a discussion with BD chairman, CEO and president, Tom Polen and Jill Houghton, CEO and president – Disability:IN, on how we’re advancing accessibility and equity at BD. Learn more about inclusion, diversity and equity and BD: https://lnkd.in/efxWh4EV #ProudtobeBD #DEAM #disabilityinclusion

I often see a phrase that I think would be great to show off on a tshirt. This quote from Sheri Byrne-Haber is one of them: “Accessibility is not a problem to be solved. It’s a culture to be built.” Thanks Sheri for your words of wisdom! If you’re wondering why I love this phrase or want to talk about accessibility, feel free to comment or message me! #disability #accessibility
There is a big focus on disability inclusion and accessibility during National Disability Employment Awareness Month. These organizations need to remember, accessibility is not a problem to be solved. It’s a culture to be built. In building that culture, organizations need to focus on disability, inclusion and accessibility every day of the year not just in October. #accessibility #Inclusion #Disability

During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, it's crucial to remember that accessibility is not just a problem to solve. It's a culture to build, nurture, and embrace every day of the year, not just in October. As professionals and organizations, let's make accessibility a natural part of our daily routine. It's about fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can thrive and contribute their best. #Accessibility #Inclusion #AccessibilityForAll #AssistiveTechnology #DigitalInclusion #DigitalAccessibility

While the post is about accessibility, it is relevent to everything in the DEI space. If you treat accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion as list of things to be done, your business will never be fully inclusive, accessible, equitable, or diverse. These concepts are not a thing that HR just does - they are core values baked into your operations, into your business model. They are part of your corporate culture.
