As we come to the close of National Indigenous History and Pride Month, we want to recognize the efforts made by all RaceRockers! From launching our paid co-op, internship, and new graduate program, Kishkayhta, to the inaugural Wâhkôhtowin Report, to supporting causes that have meaning to you, we've made a real impact! This month, we also celebrated Anita Pawluk joining the Board and Melissa L. joining as a member of the Indigenous Tech Circle; this group aims to create equitable outcomes for Indigenous Peoples through technology. For this World Youth Skills Day, Fides Search is excited to share some insights from our recent intern, Zoya! Her time with us has been wonderful and we have thoroughly enjoyed her additions. Reflecting on her experience, Zoya shared, "I have done a variety of things in my time here. On my first day, I worked in administration and put my organizational skills to use." She continued to build on these skills throughout her internship, helping us with outreach and knowledge research. "On my second day, I did some coding for our internal system, which involved researching individuals and distilling information about them. This was particularly interesting as I had never done something like this before." Beyond this, Zoya delved into new concepts that broadened her understanding of business operations. "I also learned about ESG, business development, and due diligence, which was very eye-opening as these were new concepts for me," she said. "Understanding how businesses and companies develop and improve for their current and future clientele was fascinating." Summarizing her experience, Zoya expressed her enthusiasm: "Doing work experience at Fides has been an amazing opportunity, and I think that other people should consider this as well." We are proud to support young talents like Zoya in developing their skills and gaining valuable experience in the professional world.
