Personal this morning to remember a pretty amazing lady. ❤️ I got it from my momma - Robyn Landman. 💁♀️ 9/3/1958 - 10/13/2001 One of my favorite stories, from my aunt: "My mother was against having pets, but Robyn, in about 5th grade, found an abandoned dachshund-mix puppy on the way home from school one day and by force of will made my mom take him in. That was no easy feat, but we all came to adore that dog, Freddie, and took in another dog, Fritz, soon after. I don’t remember Robyn ever fearing any rule or authority in her life. Her own sense of rightness always ruled her choices, and the powers-that-be just had to deal with it. When she laughed it was this loud, honking, gasping sound that tended to scare small children and drew stares in restaurants, but it also somehow made the joke funnier and made you laugh harder with her. She always laughed and danced and created beauty from small moments. She always shone, always inspired. She had an innate, superior willpower that I have never had. People sometimes were intimidated by her because she constantly challenged herself and met those new challenges and always inspired others to rise above circumstances and do the same. Some people thought that meant she didn’t understand weakness and failure, but they were wrong. Robyn was always able to separate behavior from the person. If you failed, she understood and loved you, while still urging you to do better for yourself."
