Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. Recently, my trusty 2010 Jeep Liberty decided it was time for us to part ways. With two blown head gaskets and a repair bill higher than its worth, I had to make the tough decision to let it go. Timing wasn't ideal, but sometimes we don't get to choose when things happen. So, I embraced the situation, said goodbye to my old friend and welcomed "Maz" -- my new 2018 Jeep Compass. It's not red. It's actually "spitfire orange," and it's a stick shift (brings back high school/early college memories). This experience reinforced my new motto: "Breathe in, Breathe out, Move on." It's a reminder that we can't control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we respond. By staying calm, accepting the present and moving forward, we can navigate through any challenge life throws our way. There was a time when Rolls Royce cars were exhibited at car shows. Though they were stunning, they seemed absurdly expensive next to the other cars, and this limited their sales. Realizing this, Rolls Royce made a strategic change. They stopped showcasing at car shows and began exhibiting their cars at yacht and plane shows instead. This new setting, surrounded by luxury yachts and planes, instantly elevated the cars' perceived value. Their sales soared as a result. This story illustrates an important lesson about association. Just like Rolls Royce benefited from being next to high-end yachts and planes, the people you stand next to can either uplift you or bring you down. Ask yourself, "Who am I standing next to? Will they increase my value or decrease it?" Be very careful about who you choose to associate with, as they can greatly influence your own worth.
