Trump leads Biden in 4 key swing states, new polling finds. Former President Donald Trump holds an edge over President Joe Biden in a series of hypothetical matchups among registered voters in four key swing states, new polling from The New York Times and Siena College shows. In Nevada, a state Biden narrowly carried in the 2020 presidential election, Trump boasts 52% support to Biden’s 41%. Democrats have pathways to replace Biden in 2024, but they are narrowing. Calls are growing for Democrats to find an alternative to President Biden before the next election. With the first primary contests a few months away, is it too late for them to find a viable replacement? The short answer is no, but time is running out. It's not just about Trump vs. Biden in November - there's also the congressional election. If Trump wins the White House, the majority on Capitol Hill will be even more important. Democrats just won a Special election and an extra seat. What does that tell us about their prospects in November? Here are five lessons:

This article includes the following interesting quote from Nikki Hayley regarding the Popular Vote.   "Republicans have lost the last seven out of eight popular votes for president. That is nothing to be proud of. Any political party should want their candidate for President have “to win the majority of Americans”. And if candidates for President did in fact have to win the majority of Americans’ votes in order to win the election, BOTH parties would advocate for and promote policies that are supported by a majority of Americans – which means policies that are closer to the “center” of the political continuum in the US. As we're approximately seven months out from the November 5th Presidential election we've looked at the last two Federal election cycles to see if there's any early signs of which candidate is likely to win. Donald Trump does drive a lot of online interest, and almost always leads his Democrat rivals, but it doesn't guarantee him victory. We did also find confirmation of the well-reported lack of enthusiasm about Hilary Clinton's Presidential run in 2016, and saw far more activity for Biden in 2020. Will Biden go two for two or will Trump stage a comeback? Time will tell but one thing we'll be keeping an eye on is not the interest in Trump, but the online interest for Biden.
