Congrats brother. Now let's get the team to seriously get talent that wants to work there. I am no longer looking for a position at Public Health Management Corporation. But, after years of applying submitting over 100 applications there since 2017, The #HR team finally sent me an offer 2 weeks ago to work as a Youth Ally Worker. I am not sure how I was sent this offer but it came in my inbox. This position requires a High School diploma. I possess three Masters including an Advanced Masters and doing my doctorate, and is an Author and Academic. I have never applied there with less than a Masters so, how is it possible to get such an offer of all the apps? Talent sourcing needs to be beefed up. And by the way, just because someone has Rev at the beginning of their name should not disqualify them from working there. I understand that if you have a title such as Rev. or have theological education, that may disqualify an applicant as was the case in several situations, the hiring manager stated that they were not looking for people who were "holier than thou" as PHMC may require individuals performing duties that the religious may not want to do. I am not sure what they meant. However, I have never heard of that before within professional industries. I suspect that Michael K Pearson will make a difference as a brother who is forward thinking, inclusive and has a reputation for professionalism and understanding. #humanresources

Some key takeaways: - consider both the "what" and the "how" in terms of compensation planning - typically public boards are more concerned with the "what", but the "how" is becoming increasingly important. 68 #Superintendants throughout #Georgia will be 1st year in the role!! 👀 #sundayjournal This was the statistic given to me Wednesday night at the Southern Georgia Superintendant Conference. I always have some nerves around if my message will land with an audience, not so much because I am nervous to speak but more so because I am nervous my message will not connect with the audience. Those nerves were removed with this statistic. Who needs to hear the “Be A Pro” message more than new administrators!? Be A Pro; Confidence, Trust, Value turned out to be a perfect message. Step 1: The struggle of being in leadership the 1st year comes with a huge lack of confidence. Do I believe I can do this job!? Step 2: The struggle of having three different teams to build trust with. A team of students, a team of teachers, and a team of board members. Surprisingly the trust is most challenging and maybe most vital in the Board Members. Step 3: The struggle of having to much to do and not sure where your daily purpose is. This comes from simplifying the day to a simple idea - How can I add value today? The answer will change each day as the job done but with that mindset, you will be heading in the right direction. What made me most proud was not only being asked to bring this message to other conferences of administrators but hearing these superintendants recore the Be A Pro message to me and how they would bring it back to their team. By the time I was leaving the conference the number had grown to 73 New Superintendants.
