So interesting to hear Gary Neville's insights on the challenges beginners face in golf. It's disheartening to witness newcomers being chastised for not knowing every rule and piece of golf etiquette. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or intimidated, especially kids. This is such a key driver for us at Love Golf UK, breaking down barriers with free equipment hire, coaching sessions and community engagement. Rory McIlroy is spot on - we need more accessible entry points like driving ranges and public golf courses to bridge the gap between interest and actual play. Let's keep asking, what more can we do to make golf inclusive and welcoming for everyone? ⛳ #LoveGolfUK #InclusiveGolf

Who didn't love putting contests as a junior golfer? Playing against your friends for £1, for golf balls or event for a plate of chips, these were serious events. They were more than that though, they allowed us to bond over short contests whilst working on the most important parts of our games. They made us feel like we belonged as part of the junior golf scene at our clubs. In our 11th White Paper, we addressed the issue of belonging. Making new golfers feel like they belong as part of the golfing community is crucial to grow our sport. One idea is to build leagues at your club so that people we can foster this feeling of fun competition and build that feeling of belonging. Discover how to build your golf business by leaning-into making people feel like they belong: https://lnkd.in/eXRvRKPS 📸 : Lukas Opekar (Unsplash)

To all my global friends, the attached video shows you a clip from the fastest fields port in the world, the ancient Irish game of hurling. Played with a wooden hurly and tightly bound leather ball, this game is arguably the most exciting sport. Watch this clip to see just how much skill it takes to play this game!
The Ancient Game just delivered a Modern Masterpiece! If you're not Irish, chances are slim that you’ve heard of our national game of Hurling. Undoubtedly one of the greatest sports in the world. But this isn't just a sport… 3,000 years of history (yep, 3 thousand years!) A game celebrated in our ancient myths. Today, was the All Ireland Hurling Final in Croke Park, Dublin, with a packed crowd of 82,300. Final score: Clare 3-29 [38], Cork 1-34 [37] 75 points including jaw-dropping goals. What a spectacle of skill, speed, and sheer bravery from amateur players. They play for pride. For family. For community. For county. For the pure love of our game. No LinkedIn lessons today. Just pure admiration for a game that embodies the spirit of Ireland.

5 fittings over 4 hours. No one previously had what would be considered a professional fitting. Result: $3K in equipment sales... in addition to the smiles and education noted below. Obviously not the first to provide a nice fitting experience in a demo day fashion. We might be the first to package the experience up the way that we do. Club in the video below (No. 4) is inside $10/sf space with a shared entry and self-installed bays that took a day to get running. Operations are member-based, running self-op 24/7 and provide members unlimited use memberships for $75/month. A very different approach, leading to very different math, opening doors to a very different opportunity. Imagine the opportunity with fittings taking place behind all types of non-traditional doors across "neighborhoods" everywhere. 🤔🤔🤔 #golf #disruption #startup #titleist #ping #taylormade #callaway
Well it wasn't self-op, but we managed to bump the club fitting experience up the priority list! No cost to members. Everyone with plenty of warm up time. Everyone left with a little education, lots of smiles, and the majority with new clubs in the works too. As we make high-end golf more convenient and affordable for everyone, we'll make ALL parts of golf more convenient and affordable for everyone. ⛳⛳⛳

For 30+ years I have helped businessmen/ women raise finance, acquire, value & sell companies. I also Turnaround struggling businesses.
That us the power of psychology and sports psychology in particular!
As part of my work with England squash this season I had the opportunity to attend the Warwick Gold Squash tournament a couple of weeks ago. It was amazing to be able to see improvements in body language and mindset since the first tournament I attended at the start of the season and to see the positive impact of applying the techniques we have worked on. Furthermore, it gave me the opportunity to see first hand the level of talent of the players and also some of the challenges they face, which allowed me to think about some of the areas we could work on more in the future. This was a brilliant way to end the season, and I wish all the players who have been chosen to represent at international events over the summer the best of luck!

Teaching Elite Players vs Amateurs - What's the Difference? No matter the student, the role of the instructor has never changed in it's purest sense: To Improve the Clients Condition.... I consider myself very lucky because whether I'm teaching a Sir Nick Faldo, Justin Rose or Paul McGinley or one of my members at Knickerbocker Country Club in NJ, I've always recognized 'that' one common denominator; to improve the clients condition. Curiously, I've always viewed it like a surgeon in so much as it matters not who is on the table, because at that point they are all the same, all that matters is they exit, on their terms, with the prospect of getting better. As instructors, we have a job to do: 1. Discover what the student needs help with (be specific) 2. Watch, learn and diagnose. 3. Clearly explain the new technical direction. 4. Teach. So here's the trick, who ever that student may be: find out what success would look like to them - this can be discovered by one of the following questions: 1. 'After the session today, what would you like to achieve?' 2. 'What would you like to see the ball do differently?' 3. 'How will you know that things are changing for you?' This is what I call the discovery period and the more your discover pre lesson the more informed you are of the important deliverables. To end, I consider myself lucky, students are students to me with challenges they need to overcome and it really doesn't matter if they have 6 Majors, a handicap of 6 or have been playing for 6 weeks...the end point is simple: Improve them allied to their desires.... Shaping Financial Success & Community Futures | Chartered IFA & Founder of Celtic Financial | Charity Trustee & Business Mentor
As Wales faced a challenging end to the Six Nations competition today, we're reminded of a crucial lesson: past successes are not guarantees for future victories. Despite avoiding the wooden spoon for the last 21 years, today's result underscores the importance of continual improvement and resilience. In life, as in elite sports, resting on our laurels isn't an option. Defeat is tough but it's not defining. It's an opportunity to reflect, learn, and evolve. I'm confident that Warren Gatland and the team will do just that - review, understand, and use this experience as a springboard for future success. This approach isn't limited to rugby or sports; it's a valuable perspective for any industry. Let's all take a page from elite sports: embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and keep pushing forward. And of course, congratulations to Ireland on their well-deserved Six Nations victory. Here's to learning, growing, and achieving, no matter the field we're in. #Rugby #SixNations #ContinuousImprovement #Resilience

Where are my golfers? I’m excited for this event…you know I specialise in leadership training but did you know there are SO many similarities between golf and being a leader? Playing golf has taught me so much about leadership! 🏌️♂️ Just like in golf, being a great leader means staying focused, being patient, and thinking strategically. Here are a few lessons golf has reinforced: 1. **Preparation is Key**: Just as I practice my swing, leaders must prepare for meetings and projects. 2. **Adaptability**: Weather changes on the course, and business conditions change too. Adapt and keep moving forward. 3. **Patience and Resilience**: Not every shot lands where you want it. Learn from mistakes and stay resilient. Both golf and leadership are continuous journeys of improvement. Let's keep refining our skills and striving for excellence! See you in June at the Whitby Chamber of Commerce golf event at Royal Ashburn Golf Club #Leadership #Golf #ContinuousLearning #Resilience #leadershiptraining #teetime #supportlocal #chamberofcommerce #businessowner #whitby
