I had the privilege of attending SAP TechEd 2023, which was my first experience at this prestigious event. Right from the smooth welcome to the impeccable management, the overall atmosphere Bangalore International Exhibition Centre was truly energizing. The event kicked off with lively opening performances to Bollywood music, setting the stage for what was to come. Sindhu Gangadharan, the Senior VP and MD of SAP Labs India, delivered an inspiring opening speech. She highlighted the significance of #TechEd in India and emphasized that India boasts an impressive 16% share of the global AI talent pool. I was captivated by her insights into the projected $1 trillion market opportunity for Software as a Service (#SaaS) in India in the years ahead. Following that, we had the pleasure of attending the Executive Keynote delivered by Juergen Mueller, the CTO and a member of the executive board at SAP. He introduced us to a wide array of potent AI innovations that cater to both current and future needs in making SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) intelligent. During this keynote, we gained insights into how the talented individuals at #SAP are incorporating generative AI into our product portfolio. I want to give a special mention to "Joule," an AI-powered co-pilot seamlessly integrated into the #BTP cockpit to simplify various administrative and development tasks. A live demonstration was carried out to illustrate how Joule facilitates code generation and accelerates application development, which was expertly presented by Sangeetha Jayakumar, a Product Expert, and Michael Ameling, Senior Vice President of AI Engineering – truly a visual delight. Here are some additional highlights and key takeaways from the event: ·        SAP introduced a new pro-code offering called #SAPBuild Code, featuring AI-powered productivity tools tailored for Java and JavaScript development. The SAP Integration Suite Edge Integration Cell was unveiled, providing customers with heterogeneous and distributed environments greater flexibility and control over integrations and APIs, replacing solutions like MuleSoft or Dell Boomi.   SAP Datasphere introduced additional features to help customers streamline their business data fabric and enhance interoperability.   SAP #HANA Cloud is expanding its capabilities with Vector Engine, allowing customers to fully harness the potential of generative AI. These vector capabilities will enable the management of unstructured data, like text, images, and audio, as vector embeddings.   SAP Analytics #Cloud now boasts significantly improved performance, with the Lightweight Viewer achieving up to a 60% speed boost compared to the classical stack.   SAP Business #AI announced the upcoming release of the generative AI hub within SAP AI Core. First consulting companies are launching and accelerating on #generativeai for consulting services. This is a huge opportunity for #supplychaintransformation transformation. IT consulting prices go down. We will be able to much cheaper run transformation initiatives with temporary outsourced services! I already saw first pilots for SAP Solution architects running and expect the entire market change. The big players Accenture, Deloitte Capgemini Infosys IBM are/ will upskill shared service center staff and Management consultants to work with assistants. And global industry players will do too.
