🌟 Reflecting on my recent interview experience 🌟 I recently had an eye-opening interview that left me pondering the dynamics of hiring decisions. While I was excited to discuss my current education, internships, and experiences, I found the conversation pivoting towards my past endeavors, particularly my undergraduate studies. It became evident that the HR representative was heavily focused on my bachelor's degree, seemingly hesitant about my transition from journalism to pursuing an MBA. Despite my enthusiasm and readiness to showcase my growth and adaptability, it felt as though I was being held back by perceptions rooted in my past rather than being evaluated based on my present potential. This experience raises an important question: why do HR professionals sometimes fixate on past achievements rather than embracing the evolution and diversity of an individual's journey? Perhaps it's a desire for familiarity or a reluctance to deviate from traditional pathways. Or maybe it's a misunderstanding of the value that diverse backgrounds and experiences bring to a team. As someone navigating career transitions and growth, I believe it's crucial for HR professionals to approach each candidate holistically, valuing not just their past experiences but also their potential and capacity to thrive in new roles and industries. Embracing diversity in backgrounds and skill sets can lead to richer, more innovative teams and ultimately drive organizational success. I'm grateful for every opportunity to learn and grow, and while this particular experience didn't result in the outcome I hoped for, it has reinforced my commitment to pursuing my passions and forging my own path. I look forward to continuing my journey, undeterred by setbacks, and I remain optimistic about finding the right fit where my unique blend of skills and experiences will be celebrated. #CareerReflections #DiversityandInclusion #EmbraceChange #PersonalGrowth #CareerJourney

Recruiters always seem to want experienced people, but have you ever wondered how someone gains experience? No one is born with experience, and it's unfair to expect us to have it without giving us a chance. Rejection after rejection can be disheartening, but we just need an opportunity to prove ourselves. Even if it's just an internship or part-time work, it can make all the difference. We understand the importance of having good client relations, references, appearances, certifications, and courses, but we need someone to give us a chance to develop those skills. Let's work together to bridge the gap between experienced professionals and fresh talent.
