The Tenant Advisor. Executing Effective Real Estate Strategies and Transaction Management for Office Occupiers and Healthcare Providers | coydavidson.com
Tenet Healthcare To Sell Four Hospitals in California for $975 Million Tenet Healthcare Corp. has agreed to sell four of its hospitals in Southern California to UCI Health for approximately $975 million, aiming to deleverage its balance sheet and focus on growth. This follows a separate transaction where Tenet sold three hospitals in South Carolina to Novant Health for about $2.4 billion, granting Novant a significant presence in the region. These moves are part of Tenet's strategy to enhance financial flexibility amid challenges like rising healthcare wages in California and regulatory changes impacting costs. The California deal, pending regulatory approval, is expected to net Tenet around $800 million and concludes by the end of spring. The hospitals involved are notable for their long-standing service in Orange and Los Angeles Counties, and their integration into UCI Health's academic system is anticipated to improve access to advanced medical care. Additionally, Tenet's affiliate, Conifer Health Solutions, will continue providing revenue cycle management services during the transition.
