For my newsletter this week, I interviewed Suneal and Grant, co-founders of the immensely popular mystery coffee game Leaderboard.
An excerpted quote from Grant:
"It's really important to listen to your community and have an open chain of communication and feedback loop. One of our most successful parts of this project is involving members of our community in the whole process of creating the game, creating the product, and creating the community. I think that it's really easy to think, this is what people want, and go and do that thing. When really, it's like, are you building this community for yourself? Or is it for that community? So if it is for that community, then why don't you talk with them, listen to them, and really ask them what they want or what would feel good for them?"
As some of you may know, our faith based entertainment company, IYH Innertainment LLC specializes in creating fun, creative experiences for our clients through music, comedy and games. We incoporated officially in 2020 but had been helping encourage creativity through community since 2014. Recently, we launched our first boardgame and are currently running a Kickstarter Campaign for it. Many folks have asked about its origins so I thought I'd share the story with you here.
From a divided room to united laughter, Draw or Act emerged from a spontaneous moment. We were traveling to an event with our 10-year-old son. We brought board games to keep our kids away from their screens. (We do what we can, right?) At that moment, I watched the children play in their world and the grown-ups in their world. I wanted to bridge the divide. What could we play that would excite four generations of big personalities?
So I took a dice with numbers on it from one game, a timer from another, and drew the words draw or act on a Post-it and stuck it on a chocolate dollar coin. Draw or Act was born! We all huddled in the living room and began having so much fun that time slipped away from us.
After months of research and testing the game at our Fun Friday events with adults, with our church youth ministry and even high school classes, and receiving feedback from educators and other families, I decided it was time to bring Draw or Act to the world. Currently, we've reached [30%] of our goal, and with your support, we're confident we can reach even greater heights. Campaigns that hit 30-40% of their goal in the first week are more likely to be successful, so if you’re waiting for the right time – there’s no better time than TODAY.

As a special incentive, we're offering a super early bird price of just $39 for Draw or Act if you pledge before April 6th, 2024. Next week the price goes up to $45.
There is no amount too big or too small to give. Our goal is to encourage creativity through community and so far, our game has proven to do just that. Don't take my word for it though, check out the game for yourself.

Thank you in advance for your support!!
Do you want to help kids get off their screens? I know - it's a random question for LinkedIn but it's one I think about often.
Graig Peterson & Darwin Johnson are building an incredible suite of apps to get kids OFF SCREENS and using pen/paper/creativity. I've seen their passion and the apps they already have in the hands of Beta testers - and they are brilliant. Help them combat the screen time epidemic & complete Scribble Stadium by backing their kickstarter.
Or, at the very least, click and watch the video. It's 🔥 .

So boys and girls. We here at LowKeyHighEntertainment have decided will be upping the stakes on our Patreon and eventual kickstarter.
We’ve been working on a “pitch demo” it’s a proof of concept demo, that shows the fundamentals of the game and what it’s suppose to be. An “Alpha” if you will.
It’s being developed so we can pitch the idea to investors to help fund our devs and the studio. But we decided why not let the public check it out too?
So from when the pitch is completed, we’ll be releasing it on our Patreon and our kickstarter. From there we will be doing regular updates until the actual release of the demo “the beta”. The actual demo, there will be polls and a public discord where you can say what you like, hate and wish was changed. In which we will take that info and upgrade the demo 5 times (each part with a different story piece and different gameplay) once the demo is to the public’s liking, the full game will commence.
But it all starts out with that initial support. We’ll be releasing this demo hopefully by the end of next month.
Are you aware of what's the #Apptoberfest?
It's a competition in the #AtlassianCommunity that shows a series of video demos of apps for Atlassian products. And here's ours.
Here, we show you how to control how much money you spend on every aspect of your projects in a fun and relaxed way.

This is not your run-of-the-mill website, it's built for those who like a challenge and love cute stickers. As the name doesn't suggest, it's an acronym for Wait is that a sticker? In a nutshell, it generates stickers with Midjourney.
