🤔Does the community stay the same all the time? 🤔How does the community evolve? 🤔Can the community be closed, or can its domain be changed? 🔄What do we know about the community lifecycle? There are different concepts that describe the community development phases. I prefer to simplify things, so I'll highlight the following: ☝️Design -> Launch -> Grow -> Sustain / Change / Pivot / Close At Luxoft, we have different communities in various phases as they were launched at different times. It's fascinating to observe the differences in rhythms and "life" in communities at various stages. Some are trying to find a second life because the previous methods and activities are not needed now. Others are still figuring out the best way to collaborate. 📚To provide a deeper understanding of what I'm talking about, I'll attach a picture from "A guidebook on communities of practice within and across organizations, 2023" by Etienne Wenger-Trayner, Beverly Wenger-Trayner, Phil Reid, Claude Bruderlein. It illustrates what is happening with the community at different stages. 👇Check it and share in the comments at which stage your communities are. 💡In summary, it's entirely fine that the community is changing and evolving. It can't remain static, or people will become bored and leave your group.
