We want all Kiwi women to know their breast density - it's important because the denser the breasts, the harder it is for a mammogram to pick up cancer and the greater the risk of cancer itself. So it is great news to hear the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) calling for breast density reporting to be mandated in both screening and diagnosis in New Zealand and Australia. We strongly support greater reporting of breast density and have been pushing for this for several years, because this knowledge helps people manage their personal risk, and allows for informed decision-making. RANZCR's position statement is a great first step and we want to see this mandate rolled out as standard practice in both the public and private setting. Have a read of RANZCR’s statement here: https://ow.ly/Flf150Qp2xz If you’d like to learn more about breast density, take a read on our website and watch our webinar: https://ow.ly/r9le50Qp2xA

🌟 #Australian of the Year 2024 Inspiration: The Heart of Patient-Centric #Clinical Trials 🌟 "Here was an opportunity for us to crack another incurable cancer and make a difference; if not for me, then for others" - Prof Richard Scolyer These poignant words by Prof. Scolyer resonate with millions worldwide who altruistically participate in clinical trials, not just with the hope of curing their own cancer but also to aid others. 🌍 Along with Prof. Georgina Long, their groundbreaking work in melanoma research, recognized by the 2024 Australians of the Year award, highlights the critical importance of patient-centric clinical trials. Their journey, particularly since Prof. Scolyer's own cancer diagnosis, exemplifies a deep commitment to not only advancing medical science but doing so with a patient-centred focus. They've shown us that at the heart of impactful research is compassion, courage, and a genuine desire to make a difference, not just for one, but for many. As we reflect on their story, let's consider how we can infuse these values into our own work. How can we make our clinical trials more patient-centric? How can we ensure that we're not just treating conditions but also nurturing hope and showing kindness 💖 to those we aim to help?
