Be Kind. Give Time. Build Trust. Last week Bobby Williams, Shameka Glover, and I ventured to New Orleans. We saw some of the Mardi Gras festivities (pictured is a tree we saw during our run) and had an awesome conversation over lunch with Shannon Coleman-Cryer (all things wage and hour). During a dinner event, we talked with clients and industry cohorts about what it takes to be successful in the legal field. Here are the top three themes: Be Kind: Genuine kindness is priceless. It’s so simple but seems so hard for many. Care about others, be kind, and do what is right regardless of the dollars.     Give Time: Our most valuable asset is time. Spend time with people you genuinely enjoy, and the relationships that form will likely be more authentic and long-lasting. Those are the important relationships that pay dividends over time, directly or indirectly.    Build Trust: Results are important, but trust is paramount. It is a gradual construct, built steadily over time through consistent interactions. Mistakes will happen, but it’s how you own those when (not if) they happen. If trust is broken, it is often irreparably damaged along with the relationship. #bekind #buildtrust #givetime iDiscovery Solutions

So true, you harvest what you seed. Whether people namely like it or not, any conflict continues until there is truce, regardless of the amount of atrocities committed by both parties. First after such truce is reached, the real peace building can start. There are only two scenarios to sustainably end a conflict: -1- a “final solution” or total defeat of one of the two parties, leaving no-one behind to reignite the conflict in decades from now (God beware us!) -2- truce and working on the root-causes in order to grow sustainable understanding for each other and establish convergence. If this is established, the wrong leaders lose their divergent control. Against all odds there sometimes are examples of such inspiring convergence to be followed!
