37 years ago today this beauty and I had our first date. I picked her up at Rick's American Cafe the night before - she was my waitress and it was her first shift with her own section! I was a senior and she was a junior; I was a mere six weeks from graduation with my NYC apartment locked in, my Wall Street job online and not a care in the world except finishing out my senior campaign with my buddies in style. Little did I know that this girl from South Orange, NJ would change my life in an evening. We drove to a little Mexican restaurant on the outer edges of Ann Arbor called La Pinata (which has been gone for more than three decades), drank green Margaritas, poured our hearts out to each other and fell in love. And now more than 30 years of marriage later, with two wonderful children (our fellow University of Michigan grads Andrew Ehrenberg and Ethan Ehrenberg) and decades of living, loving and traveling together, I couldn't be more grateful for our past or for what the future holds. Every St. Patrick's Day I give thanks, not because I'm Irish (but aren't we all on St. Paddy's, anyway?) but because it was on this day so many years ago that I met my best friend, the love of my life, the mother of my children and the best human I know. Somehow the Luck of the Irish rubbed off on me! ☘ #GoBlue
