As a manufacturer of high-quality drive #technology components, we have established a strong #international reputation. RENK locations can be found across Europe, America, and Asia, always close to our customers and projects worldwide.
Have you ever wondered what our plants look like? Join us on a visual tour around the globe – right into the heart of our various locations.
Our journey begins in #Rheine, Germany. With over 430 employees, the RENK plant in Rheine is the second-largest location in the RENK Group, following the company’s headquarters in Augsburg. This plant specializes in the production of gear units and coupling solutions. But don’t just take our word for it – see for yourself. Roll it!
Embarking on a journey of industrial enlightenment, organized by our university's SME departmental society, this visit to Tecno Pack Ltd served the purpose of developing our understanding of industrial knowledge and highlighting the crucial role of industrial and manufacturing engineering in various industries.
Led by the warmth and hospitality of the factory manager and his team, including the welcoming gestures of the Chinese manager, whose name unfortunately escapes my memory😂, we embarked on an immersive exploration of mobile manufacturing. Traversing through the management rooms, engineering hubs, and production floors, we gained firsthand insight into the intricacies of mobile production, witnessing the seamless coordination and expertise of the team at Tecno Pack Ltd.
From the meticulous processes in the durability testing rooms to the efficiency of the packaging sites, each step of the tour unveiled layers of expertise and precision. However, at the production site, an intriguing twist awaited us as mobile photography was prohibited due to scientific reasons, adding an element of curiosity to our experience.
This photo serves as a poignant reminder of our enriching encounter at Tecno Pack Ltd, capturing a moment of camaraderie and learning with the Chinese manager and their team. Truly unforgettable!
P.S: Comment below and share if you've ever had an experience where something you've only seen on TV came to life right before your eyes.
Also, have you spotted me in the photo below? 😂

AKKO has developed the Swiss Easy Change (SEC Tools) tool holder system, an engineering marvel that reduces tool change times in mass production. It is possible to preset outside the machine with SEC Tools, the PATENTED product group developed by AKKO for manufacturers who want to increase their speed and efficiency during processing. With the easy handling that comes with just one clamping screw, tool change takes place in seconds. This reduces the cycle time and stop time and maximizes machine efficiency. The modular tool holder and cartridges(Tool head) can be changed easily. In the system, which enables extremely precise positioning of the head and high repeatability, there is no chance for variability due to rigid fixation. SEC Tools will be indispensable for Swiss Type Machines technologies that mass-produce small parts in particular.
As many companies are now desperately looking for skilled workers, the attractiveness of jobs in glass processing is becoming an increasingly important issue. Especially when we talk about robotics for the automation of individual processes or for the linking of further parts of the plant layout, the first association is often the saving of energy. For example, because the employees no longer have to transport the weighty disks by hand, which is certainly also beneficial to the quality of the end product.
Of course, there is also the aspect that many employees find working on the same machine over and over again monotonous. That is why the current episode of our video preview of Waldemar Knittel Glasbearbeitungs GmbH at the VITRUM – where the company, with cooperation partner LATTUADA, is exhibiting at booth C02 - E11 in Hall 7 – begins with a piercing whistling sound.
With this "call system," as VITRUM veteran and programmer and application engineer Valentin Immel calls it, the machine operator has the assurance that there will be no stoppage on the machine – in our case, on Lattuada's grinding line with robot-assisted automation from Waldemar Knittel Glasbearbeitungs GmbH – in his absence.
"Many of our customers, for example, have a CNC machine next to the grinding machine with the robot and now have time – while the grinding line is running and the robot is processing the racks independently – to produce their glass there and look after this accordingly," reports Valentin Immel, who, by his own admission, has equipped many customer operations with the Beeper during the past four years.
And when the call system indicates a standstill? Then the machine operators can react at lightning speed. Like the fire department. A clever solution from Waldemar Knittel Glasbearbeitungs GmbH.
You can experience many more useful details from September 5 to 8 at the VITRUM trade fair in Milan, where Waldemar Knittel Glasbearbeitungs GmbH will once again be represented alongside its partner Adelio Lattuada and has set up a complete production line with original components, and of course fully automated, at Stand C02 - E11 in Hall 7.

"If something is reasonable that the market demands, then we do it." This is how Jochen Günther from Waldemar Knittel Glasbearbeitungs GmbH describes the focus in the long-standing partnership with the Italian machine manufacturer LATTUADA. At the end of the day, both companies have the will and the readiness to implement – to tackle and execute projects that have been found to be good after careful examination.
This can also be done differently, as the authorized signatory and mechanical engineer reports. The first attempt, as a specialist in automation, to establish a strategic partnership with a plant manufacturer so as to bring the precision and efficiency of the robots programmed by Knittel to the processes of flat glass processing failed, he says. "At the time, this was a company with corporate structures, where we quickly realized that the interests were different, that the clocks simply ticked differently."
Why does it fit with Adelio Lattuada ? "The cooperation is characterized by mutual respect, everything happens in consultation," says the head of mechanical engineering at Knittel's Bielefeld site. And the clientele? "I think they can see from the function of the machine that it really is a well-coordinated team that is performing."
You can discover what Waldemar Knittel Glasbearbeitungs GmbH and LATTUADA, the specialist for grinding and washing machines, will be bringing to the stage at their next joint appearance during the VITRUM trade show from September 5 to 8 at Booth C02 – E11 in Hall 7. Jochen Günther already promises one thing: "There's nothing glossed over and nothing left out. Anyone who really wants to experience live what advantages the automation technology we use brings to the processes at glass processing companies should not miss this."
As the video shows, we were able to take a close look at the high-end grinding line in advance in Bielefeld, which – apart from the LATTUADA machines to be integrated via Plug & Play – was already set up at Knittel true to the original dimensions from the trade show – and we were very impressed.
