The stupidest contributor to climate change is food waste. Each year we produce more than enough food for every person on the planet, yet one third of it is never eaten and one out of five people goes to bed without knowing when their next meal will be. Food that decomposes in fields, transportation, refrigerators, homes and landfills would, if counted as a whole, be the THIRD LARGEST emitter after the USA and China. And for what? That lost and wasted food does not contribute financially if farmers cannot sell it to wholesalers, wholesalers cannot sell it to grocery stores and you pay to have it taken out with your trash. #foodwaste #climatechange #environment

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the ReFED Summit where USDA Secretary Vilsack announced the National U.S. Strategy to Reduce Food Loss and Waste. Objective 1: Prevent food loss. Objective 2: Prevent food waste. Objective 3: Increase the recycling rate for all organic waste. Objective 4: Support policies that incentivize and encourage the prevention of food loss and waste and organics recycling. Curious what this might mean for your business? Technology is only as good as its model. The execution happens when growers utilize its features to target agriculture issues like water optimization and carbon sequestration. The benefits will only then amplify when these technologies work together. https://lnkd.in/gryHQa23

Grain Analysis Market: Understanding Trends and Opportunities in Agricultural Technology Get your Sample PDF: https://lnkd.in/d46byujM The global grain analysis market is experiencing significant growth, driven by factors like: Stricter food safety regulations: Consumers are demanding transparency and safety in their food, and governments are enforcing stricter regulations. Grain analysis ensures grains meet these standards. Globalization of grain trade: As grain travels further, analysis becomes crucial to monitor quality and prevent spoilage during transport and storage. Rise in foodborne illnesses: Early detection of contaminants like mycotoxins and pathogens helps prevent outbreaks. Advanced analytical instruments: Faster, more accurate equipment is needed to keep pace with regulations and consumer demands. Skilled technicians: Trained professionals are needed to operate and interpret grain analysis results. Improved data management solutions: Tracking and analyzing grain data throughout the supply chain is becoming increasingly important. #grainanalysis #foodsafety #agriculture #foodtech #growwithgrain #GrainAnalysis #AgriculturalTechnology #CropQuality #FoodSafety #GrainQualityControl #PrecisionAgriculture #GrainTesting #QualityAssurance

Keeping conveyor belts in food processing clean is very important as they are in direct contact with food products. The biggest challenge processing plants face is cross contamination, the risk of food contamination. This can either be physical contamination or microbiological contamination, caused by biofilm build-up on the line. One of the ways to overcome this challenge is making sure that belts facilitate the flow of water and cleaning agents to the most hidden parts and the rods connecting the belts, so they cannot become breeding grounds for harmful bacteria. #beltmanny #jerseybeltguy #conveyor #powerlinesusa #acebeltingcompany #fasteners #beltingneversleeps #aftermarketbeltsupplier #USDAapproved #conveyorbelts #machines #industrial #machinetools #machineparts #engineering #machineorings #lovemachine #machinelearning #machineshoplife #love #machine #machinegunkelly #foodmanufacturing #foodproduction #fishtime #foodsanitation #fish #seafood #cleaningfood #bigfishing

https://lnkd.in/dRkZEqSX 1/3 of the food the we produce in the world ends up in the waste bin. This is outrageous; still, this does not even take into account all the food losses which occur directy on the agricultural fields. Espigoladors is helping to develop a methodology to quantify Food Loss at the primary production stage.

#FSMA_Final_Rule_on_Pre_Harvest_Agricultural_Water On May 6, 2024, the FDA published a final rule that revises the pre-harvest agricultural water provisions for covered produce under Subpart E of the FSMA Produce Safety Rule. It replaces the previous microbial quality criteria and testing requirements with a systems-based approach for pre-harvest agricultural water assessments, designed to identify hazards and manage risks effectively. Tech-assisted farm management solutions like Smart Food Safe : Food Safety & Quality Management Software's Smart Farm can play a critical role in helping farms comply with the new requirements by being instrumental in offering specialized digital functionalities to streamline and optimize agricultural practices.
