You don’t have to go inside a museum to see some of the best art in Detroit. More and more street art can be found on the sides of buildings, in alleyways and other random outdoor areas. And now, Detroit’s street art scene is getting national attention. Detroit has just been named as having the No. 5 street art scene in the entire country, according to USA Today’s 2024 list of the 10 U.S. Cities With The Best Street Art Collections, which ranks Detroit ahead of New York City, Washington, D.C., Nashville, Miami and Portland. Ranking just ahead of Detroit are Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Richmond and Cincinnati.

We took an outing today. Come with us to the London Art Fair. This fair is quite exciting for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s the inaugural art event of the new year, effectively reviving the art market. The galleries are showcasing works from prominent artists and reflecting the latest trends from the previous year. However, the standout feature is undoubtedly the impressive prints that are on display. This is particularly significant as it offers a more accessible entry point into the art market for new collectors. The print market is a dynamic segment of the art market that is rapidly gaining popularity, positioning it as a sector to watch closely in 2024.
We attended the Preview Day of the London Art Fair excited to see its first prints & editions section, featuring galleries that focus on limited editions. A fantastic addition to the show, nurturing collectors who want to grow their portfolios and host big brand names on their walls. We spoke to Adrian Hill Fine Art & Stow Art House about the prints in their booths. Our Market Editor Sheena Carrington commented on the popular featuring of Hockney’s across the fair, and rare colourway Warhol’s at Tanya Baxter Contemporary. For example, one wouldn't anticipate finding a Michelangelo masterpiece at a local art fair, as such venues don't typically convey the aura of “priceless historical significance” that certain artworks embody. #soloshow #exibition #aterniger #aternigerproject #february2024 #ATERNIGER #BlackInArt #ChromaticExploration #AbstractArt #TheColorBlack #ArtisticExpression #ContemporaryPainting #MeaningsOfBlack #UrbanArt #AbstractInterpretations • ATERNIGER 2 exhibition, Bistrița-Năsăud Museum Complex. • Black is strong, silent, and elegant; it is matte black, glossy black, introspective, and mysterious. It is sober, balancing, and can be the starry sky on restful nights; black is a color that has undergone many changes over the centuries, as Michel Pastoureau noted. Black asserted itself as a color at the famous exhibition at the end of 1946 at the Maeght gallery in Paris, where 25 works by artists such as Pierre Bonnard, Henri Matisse, George Braque, Georges Rouault, Henry Van de Velde, Pierre Soulages, and others were exhibited. For me, it is a haiku, embodying all the meanings perceived through the eyes of the beholder. The ATERNIGER exhibition explores the depths and expressive dimensions of black, offering viewers a captivating journey through diverse stylistic approaches, placing them center stage, in the heart of the piece, or in the universe, exploring it. By integrating works done in a realistic style, I aimed to bring a personal and introspective element to the entire project. Thus, the realistic achievements become a window to my own self-representation, bringing to the forefront elements of identity and human experience that harmoniously merge with the abstract language of black. This juxtaposition creates a profound connection between abstract and real, inviting viewers to explore the subtle nuances of artistic expression in a vast spectrum of interpretations and emotions. In this dialogue, dynamic images are the connecting and transitioning element, elements from the real space that overlap and juxtapose, enveloping and unveiling urban exploration areas that have triggered over time in my conceptual and then real studio, today's project on display, entitled ATERNIGER.

Holographic Art Exhibits: The Galleria Lumina Enter Galleria Lumina, where art is no longer confined to canvases and frames but exists in a dynamic state of 3D splendor. Here, holographic displays create a new dimension of artistic expression, allowing visitors to walk through, around, and interact with the art. This is a space where the static becomes dynamic, and the passive act of viewing art is replaced by an interactive experience that invites conversation and contemplation. It's not just an exhibit; it's a journey through the artist's mind, where each piece is alive with the potential for discovery and interpretation. Galleria Lumina is not just changing how we see art; it's transforming how we connect with it. #3DHologram #3DHolographic #3DLedFanDisplay #HologramDisplay

Opening tomorrow, the first of this year's senior art gallery exhibitions, Izzy Kolb: "What if I live life in all the wrong ways?" Exhibition: 1/23-1/27 Gallery Reception: Thurs. 1/25, 6-7 p.m. An installation of sculpture, ephemera, projected video and more. Artist Statement: Living in a society of oversaturation and overstimulation, the world can feel a bit loud. My process as an artist requires a prioritized relationship distinguishing my own internal voice from all other noise. My creative process, using self-imposed rules prohibiting social media use, revealed my long-standing dependency on this technology as a form of escapism. Through this work, I question the fundamental experience of endless visual entertainment, influence, and all-encompassing distraction. https://bit.ly/48vUJr1

Are you familiar with active listening? While interviewing a museum director about a multi-million dollar expansion, she made a comment at the end of our conversation. That small moment led to more discovery, an idea for this article, and a soon-to-be-revealed museum exhibit this spring. When we listen to understand, rather than listen to respond a world of opportunity opens. #4havensake #leadershipcommunications #leadershipbyexample https://lnkd.in/gHfd9sAu
