National Native American Heritage Day is celebrated every year on the day after Thanksgiving to honor the nation's Native American peoples, cultures, traditions, and contributions. Here are five ways to commemorate the day: - Recognize What Land You Are On: Acknowledging the traditional Native American lands we live on or visit is a fundamental act of respect and recognition for the original stewards of the land. - Participate in Local Native American Cultural Events: Check your local area for traditional dances, cultural fairs, or museum exhibits dedicated to indigenous communities. - Explore Native American Cuisine: Seek out Native American-owned restaurants or food festivals. If you can't find any locally, research Native American cuisine on the internet and try a few dishes at home. - Read and Share Native American Literature: Reading literature by Native American authors is another powerful way to gain insight into indigenous cultures. - Support Native American Art and Artists: Consider purchasing art directly from Native American artists or artisans, rather than via large stores where artists only get a small cut of the profit. #NativeAmericanHeritage #NativeAmerican #NativeAmericanHeritageDay #CelebrateDiversity #CoachDiversity

The specific date of Native American Day varies from state to state, but it is generally observed in the Fall when many Native American tribes celebrate their traditional harvest festivals. The holiday is a time for Native Americans to unite and share their culture with the broader community. There are many ways to celebrate Native American Day. Some people attend powwows, which are traditional Native American gatherings that feature dancing, drumming, and singing. Others visit Native American museums and cultural centers. Still others learn about Native American history and culture by reading books, watching documentaries, or taking classes. No matter how you choose to celebrate Native American Day, it is essential to remember the rich and diverse cultures of the Native peoples of the United States. These cultures have been shaped by thousands of years of history, and they continue to thrive today. #inclusiveleadership #workplaceculture #diversityequityandinclusion #diversity #leadership #education #culture #beyondinclusion #beyondinclusiongroup #nativeamericanday
