For the first time, I had a $0 launch (and I'm not mad in the least). The past couple times I opened 'Fertility, Empowered', the response has been amazing with at least 5-10 people signing up and leaving the most heartwarming testimonials. Last week was interesting because I had the MOST engagement in my content to date, Yet no sign-ups this time! But I'm not upset at all for 3 main reasons: 1️⃣ LinkedIn posting has definitely made me a better writer, and forced me to create clear messaging on who I can help & why. The response I get proves I'm hitting a nerve and serving a need. But I'm learning that as much as I want fertility to be for EVERYONE, (regardless of if they want kids or not or where they are in life), I need to keep getting clearer and direct my messaging towards the audience I can serve best right now. And that is: health-minded, proactive individuals who want to have children in the next 1-2 years, but have zero clue about where to start or what they should be doing to prepare (aka, me a few years ago). 2️⃣ I got to make this super honest post in a sea of everyone (apparently) killing it with 10k launches from the jump, and normalize the slow & steady build process. If it wasn't built with intention, care, and devotion - I don't want it. 3️⃣ The whole reason I post / started this business to begin with is to CLOSE THE FERTILITY INFO GAP. The effect this will have on our health and all future generations is immeasurable. So if even 1 person gets inspired to care about fertility earlier because of my content, I've won. 💚 Cheers to learning, growing, adapting, and serving our fellow humans. For a long time, I've thought about jumping online and making videos, following the current trend. I’ve noticed this generation has a short attention span, and I didn’t want to invest time in writing and editing without my articles being read. But the demands of motherhood have kept me busy, though certainly not silent. Here’s the backstory: we battled infertility for almost six years with countless tests and diagnoses but no success. Then, we got pregnant naturally just a month before our first IVF cycle, had a healthy baby then welcomed our second baby 23 months later. For a couple of weeks, we had two kids under two. So, it's been hectic, but somehow, while rocking my son and waiting for those hidden burps, I realized if I could find the time to write, the right audience could find the time to read and respond. Let me introduce (or reintroduce) myself. I’m a serial entrepreneur raising two children. I hold a master’s degree in chemistry, but my passion lies in solving problems through graphic design, social media, and logistics. I’ve tried to get formal employment, but let’s be honest about the current childcare situation in the United States. Plus, I’d be ignoring the big vision in my head and the decade of work I’ve put into my venture. So, how can you help? Share your favorite parenting experiences and don’t forget to like this post—it helps me reach amazing people like you. There’s so much more to share in a video someday, once I figure out how to get the house quiet and myself well-rested. If you have any strategies, please share! There’s never a “right” time I'm currently 6 weeks postpartum with my second daughter, Hadley, and had my first daughter, Harper, (23 months) when my company Brij was less than a year old. I write often about the topic of balancing being a mom and founder. Being a new parent or founder is HARD. Doing both is REALLY hard...but there is inherent flexibility as a founder that supports doing both. Here are a few of my tips: 1) There is never a perfect time in your company to get pregnant or have a baby - there will always be some fundraising round or important moment. Don't overthink it. 2) Promote a culture of openness & flexibility at work. I share openly about my family life - whether that's blocking my calendar for bath time & doctors appointments or breastfeeding on zoom calls. As a founder, you can dictate your own schedule to be present when your family needs you & get the work done on whatever schedule makes most sense for you. 3) Set up an environment of support. Set clear expectations with your team around coverage, set up childcare that you trust, and accept help when you need it. 4) Your brain doesn't stop working when you have a baby (contrary to what some rhetoric seems to suggest). You'll be able to monitor messages and step in as needed. The reality is that it is hard and things will definitely go wrong…often. Do your best to embrace the chaos. #founder #parent

What grabs me most about Cara Health? Their stellar founding team. Their blend of medical, marketing, product, and technical expertise enables a hybrid digital/physical maternity care model validated by real insights. This talented, gritty trio can centralize fragmented solutions. With passion and vision, I believe they will thrive in femtech and make Cara Health a category leader. Impressed. The femtech market has massive potential with expected 11-15% annual growth. However, current maternity care solutions are fragmented, creating huge gaps in support for expecting mothers. 

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 🦋 I have two beautiful daughters, both of them healthy and the loves of my life. As I struggled recovering from the tumor, IVF was one of the biggest challenges of my life. I wanted to have more kids. Fortunately, it was a success and my second child was born. I don't want to discuss the miscarriages in this post, I want to tell you about the last embryo. In 2020, I gave the last embryo for adoption. I love him deeply (always thought it was a boy 💙 😊) but I was sure I wouldn't survive another pregnancy. After the tumor and the miscarriages I was scared of dying; scared of leaving my two daughters. When the clinic told us adoption was an option for our healthy embryo, I was so happy. Another couple would be able to transfer him and fulfill their dream of parenthood. Isn't this wonderful?? 🔆 We did all tests and signed the papers a few months later. I honestly believe there is a beautiful boy happy with his parents, living the best life! Technology surprises me everyday. 😮 The tumor, parenting my oldest daughter, the transfers, the miscarriages and giving an embryo up for adoption - I did all of that while working and managing a team. Today is Adoptee Remembrance Day, and today we are holding space for adopted people; for those lost to suicide, for those who have suffered from abuse or neglect, those who have been deported, and for those whose adoption trauma and loss leaves them struggling, often in silence. Adoption happens at a price: 12-14% percent of adopted children in the United States between the ages of 8 and 18 are diagnosed with a mental health disorder each year, and adopted children are almost twice as likely as children brought up with their biological parents to suffer from mood disorders like anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, all adopted children are assumed to have trauma, which can result in: * Inability to form a healthy attachment, leading to increased stress, anxiety, dysregulation, emotional control * Impaired development of brain and nervous system * Difficulty identifying, expressing, and managing emotions, and limited language for feeling states * Chronic illness such as heart disease and cancer, and early death Adoptees are over-represented in the juvenile criminal system, prison system, psychiatric institutions, drug and alcohol rehabilitation settings. Adoptees are four times more likely to attempt suicide than non-adoptees. No matter where you fall in the adoption constellation, today is about listening to adopted people. Not talking over them, not talking about them, and not talking for them. It’s about looking at the irrefutable hard data regarding adoptee outcomes, and listening to adoptees as they share their lived experiences, and it’s about remembering those who have been lost.

Today marks the end of an era. Today is Milan’s last day at nursery and it’s awfully bittersweet. Whilst I am rejoicing and celebrating about the extra money in my account every month, I’m reminded that my babygirl is not a baby anymore. In just a few weeks, she’ll be in her new uniform running around making new friends, new memories, learning new things and becoming even more independent than she already is! It’s also a beautiful reminder and reflection of everything that has been birthed because of her. The woman I am today wouldn’t exist without her. Relationships with some phenomenal people I’ve met along the crazy journey that is motherhood wouldn’t have been possible. Meeting my co-founder turned best friend, Brenda K., and not only her becoming my right lung but creating and building a business together. Without Milan, Orbit wouldn’t exist and wouldn’t be what it is today. Orbit is what I needed before I got pregnant, during my pregnancy, during that first year of motherhood, during the times I felt alone and isolated, it’s what I have needed through every stage of motherhood and womanhood. I’m so grateful that through Orbit we get to help organisations have a real impact on the lives of the women and working parents.
