I've also started exercising and walking to stay fit before starting to work! 😁 For me, the true satisfaction comes not just from the monetary benefits, but from the personal and soul satisfaction I gain from my work. Grind all the time culture is not healthy nor sustainable It's extremely hard for me to take breaks from work... Especially since launching my own social media agency. But if you're trying to take on the world 24/7 - you're ultimately just going to wind up feeling burnt out. It's very easy for me to feel like I'm not doing enough if I take some time away from work every day. I'm sitting at the beach... shouldn't I be working? I'm done with everything at night... should I do some more work? The truth of the matter is, you need to fulfill other areas of your life to bring your best package possible when you are working. You need time away. Time with friends. Time enjoying hobbies. Time enjoying the beach and beautiful weather. It's my first week back in full-time work and the Christmas bloat is finally starting to settle, the dreaded question pops into conversation 'What's your New Years resolution Soph?' Here’s what you should do this weekend: Congratulations You’ve successfully completed a work week, now it’s time to take some time for yourself and enjoy the weekend. Recently, I think the term “work-life balance” is actually a myth. The truth is: the work system of the world has been designed in a way that it can actually strip you of “a you time” if you allow it. So, to keep yourself in check, this weekend, do the following: 1. Pay attention to yourself. 2. Do healthy hangouts with friends. 3. Visit family members or talk to them over the phone. 4. Go on solo dates (if you’re single like me 😂). 5. Go to church, etc. While this may be a few things to do on a weekend, this aims to help you picture yourself out of work life. I know you want to give your work 💯, but your productivity maximizes when you, as a person, are alive. I hope this helps you! Happy weekend. #tgif

Don't Let All Work and No Play Make You Dull We've all heard the phrase "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." 😴 This saying reminds us that human beings need balance - we cannot solely focus on work without enjoying leisure and fun activities. When we become hyper-focused on our jobs and careers, we risk burnout, dulled creativity, strained relationships, and decreased life satisfaction. On the other hand, pursuing hobbies, experiencing entertainment, spending time with loved ones, and taking vacations provides an array of benefits. It refreshes our minds, boosts our moods, and allows us to return to work recharged and motivated. One of my favorite ways to relax is a Good Lunch/Dinner with Family and taking long walks listening to an audio book or podcast. Getting some Me time, fresh air, and mental stimulation is the perfect balance of productive and restorative for me. So don't let all work and no play render you dull and unfulfilled.
