I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this year's ARRtist Summit in Berlin. A big thank you to Hendrik Siemes for taking me to this impressive event. Visiting 9 classes and engaging in many exciting conversations at the expo was truly enlightening! Thanks goes to the speaker - Michael J. Jaeger, Frank Piotraschke, Florian Hübner, Dennis Bauer, Tobias Hagenau, Christian Steiger, Gero Decker. Heading now back to #Gescher HQ with fresh perspectives. I'm looking forward to meet tonight with a part of the d.velop crew at the “Bocholter Kirmes” to share some insights! See you there! 😊🎉 My key take aways: 1. Revenue architecture is key for sustainable growth – first define strategy and processes before introducing supporting tools. 2. For navigating growth and profitability it is key to establish a primary goal to align all other objectives ("North Star"). 3. Culture is a management tool for creating high-performing teams with lasting impact. Work happiness is thereby the key driver of innovation. 4. Definition of V2MOM (Vision, Values & Principles, Methods/Initiatives, Obstacles, Measures/Key Results) along the company is key to define a tangible strategy to everyone. 5. Trust based selling – achieving a "message market fit" is key for growth. Still feeling energized from the #XenaTechSummit! 🚀 It was a fantastic blend of discussions on leadership, diversity, and inclusion in tech. I encountered many insightful talks and conversations; here are a few highlights I'd like to share: 🏅 Leadership is not about a title but about a commitment to both individual and business success. (Rija Javed). 🎨 We need to challenge conventional hiring practices to be more inclusive and reflective of a diverse talent pool, beyond traditional criteria. (Sérgio Laranjeira, Oleksii Ishchenko) 🌱 Empowering and actively supporting junior team members allows our entire team to grow. (Anna J McDougall). 🔥 We might not remember exactly what great managers said, but we certainly remember how they made us feel: empowered. Can you imagine an eight year old SaaS company with the same features as year one? Would you stay with that customer? Well in events, of course a very different beast to fast moving SaaS, it's an industry that is slow moving and fast/big innovation doesn't come around that often. I've read trade shows are one of the oldest industries. The Great Exhibition was held in 1851! Some trade shows are probably still using that playbook 👀 During covid, we did see and got excited about virtual events, but with the recent sale of Hopin and currently lack of interest in virtual, it's sadly seemed to be short lived. And we have been guilty of slow innovation also. Last years SaaStock in Dublin was not a different product from 2022. And it's been an iteration of the first ever SaaStock in 2016. Just 471% bigger. And we recognise this. And have started to really look at the product and see how we improve on our startup program, our SaaS.City program, the main conference, our side events, our Founders retreat SaaSociety & how we connect those attending, the use of AI. And, what new innovations we can bring in that will drive more value and ROI. So this SaaStock years SaaStock in Dublin this October, we are calling SaaStock 2.0 A new(er), bigger, better SaaStock than ever before. I'm excited. Pre-reg coming soon.
