🌟 Finding Silver Linings 🌟 After 12+ incredible years at VMware, my journey took an unexpected turn when Broadcom acquired the company. It felt like being asked to "take out the trash when you're leaving" – a bit abrupt, but I understand it's just part of the business. However, amidst the uncertainty, I've found myself embracing new opportunities and experiences. Here's a glimpse into what the post-layoff period has brought into my life: 💪 Prioritizing Health: I decided to invest in myself and signed up with a personal trainer. The result? I've been hitting the gym nearly every day and feeling healthier than ever before. 📚 Embracing Learning: With more time on my hands, I dove into books on leadership, coaching, and personal motivation. It's been an enlightening journey of self-discovery and growth. 🤔 Reflecting on Values and Goals: This transition has allowed me to pause and reflect on what truly matters to me and where I see myself heading in the future. It's been a valuable period of introspection. 🤝 Empathy for Others: I've gained a newfound respect for others facing similar situations. In today's challenging job market, with economic regression and global uncertainties like the conflict in Ukraine, it's more important than ever to support one another. 🎓 Learning from Experience: The job hunt has been a learning curve in itself. From countless interviews to preparation sessions, I've gained invaluable insights and skills along the way. In the end, I'm reminded of the saying, "Something good always comes from something bad." I'm eagerly looking forward to what the future holds and the opportunities that await. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey. Your encouragement means the world to me. I could end this by thanking everyone building by best career move ever at VMware.. but all of you already know how much of a family you already are and will aways be in my heart! ❤️

There are a few people in your lives, whose impact is hugely significant. And in my life one of them has been Manish Vyas. During his 23 years at Tech Mahindra, he shaped the company’s trajectory into making it one of the biggest GSIs in the world. One of his unique leadership styles was to spend time with each individual in his team, share stories, and thereby give some valuable nuggets of wisdom. Among many, here are the two significant ones which have stayed with me forever. 1/ Accountability: He taught me that as a Sales leader, the job is not done until it’s fully done. Most of the Sales leaders will focus on closing deals, but Manish taught me that the real job starts after closing the deal, and it continues until the project is successfully delivered, and beyond. Many years back on a long walk outside the Directv/ AT&T office, he said - “You are the CEO of the Account, and even if the Delivery team screws up, the onus will always be on you”. Since then, the way I operate and run my business has changed tremendously. 2/ Never complain: Complaining has never helped anyone. There are two kinds of people - one that always complain, and find faults with things around them, and then there are others who just learn to live beyond the choas and imperfections. The latter ones succeed in life, and always stay happy. Thank you Manish for your mentorship and for your leadership. Microsoft just laid off their entire DEI team. Now John Deere. ''John Deere ends support of ‘social or cultural awareness’ events, distances from inclusion efforts' 'Last year, Google and Meta reduced the scope of their DEI programs and cut staff as part of restructuring and layoffs at both companies.'Zoom, Snap, Tesla, DoorDash, Lyft, Home Depot and Wayfair have also downsized their DEI teams. Overall, DEI-related job postings declined by 44% by mid-2023 compared to the same period in 2022. Microsoft had pledged to invest $150 million into its DEI push, which involved doubling the number of black and Hispanic leaders by 2025. “As we move forward, our D&I commitments remain unchanged,” Microsoft spokesperson Jeff Jones told The Post. “Our focus on diversity and inclusion is unwavering and we are holding firm on our expectations, prioritizing accountability, and continuing to focus on this work.”

📖🌐 Rip Van 2023 In Review 📖🌐 We've had some time to reflect on our growth trajectory over last year and in so doing we've summarized '23 into 4 key highlights: 1. TEAM: We've scaled our team to 50+ people, having made 23 hires across the year. 👬👭 2. SKU's: We launched 11 SKU's in a 12 month window and expanded into 2 additional product lines! 🍪🍬 3. DISTRIBUTION: With our omni-channel growth focus, we've been able to add an additional 9500 doors across the US. 🚂🚂 4. SUGAR REDUCTION: Most importantly, we were able to reduce sugar consumption in America by 2.82 million pounds! 🇺🇸 Thank you to the Rip Van team, our customers, industry partners and our loyal consumers for making 2023 a success! This year our focus, similarly will be on innovation, distribution expansion & sugar reduction 🤓🚀🚀

I have heard the words "I don't get why they're leaving. Working here is one of the best places to be. Why do they feel so angered about this place?" This quote right here perfectly explains that. When someone does not feel appreciated or valued, they will only do what is required of them, and soon feel like no one cares about them. This leads into a domino effect with them leaving the company telling everyone how awful their experience was and how they have never felt appreciated or valued in any way. I have been there before, and I have seen it. No manager or CEO or any leadership position should pick favorites. No one should be left out of the group because they are a little different or perform differently. Each member of the team/company is valuable, that's why they got hired. Look for those who you notice don't feel the most excited to be there and help them. Be that person that gives them a reason to feel happy to come to work. Everyone should feel appreciated no matter who they are.
