As I read some of the comments and statements about how the USA should ashamed because Serbia is much smaller. The reality is basketball is about skill. Sure athleticism is very very important. At the end of the day the ball “only” responds to skill. Serbia shot it well and their style is best fit for the international platform. You put that same team in the NBA and they would probably struggle some because athleticism now comes into play due to space. So we need to understand what we witnessed yesterday. We had more skilled players down the stretch and our athleticism came into play on the defensive end. We made them play faster than they wanted to late in the game and fatigue crept in! See I have learned fatigue makes cowards of us all.. there are levels to this game and we went to a different level. So let’s stop the nonsense. Oh if there was a Yugoslav team with all the players mentioned in one of the comments, they would increase the chances but put them in the NBA environment, our athleticism would probably allow us to win. We still have the best athletes and some highly skilled ones at that and this is what was on display yesterday.🇺🇸🥇

In 72' the Russians "stole "the gold on a last second push-off and basket. Our best player didn't play(Dr J.). They were amateurs and collegiate. NOT PRO! And we still kept up with the commies! To me, this is more about ego, than integrity. Jim Thorpe was a great Olympian, and Jessie Owens was phenom. These guys are carpetbaggers (like LeBron). Not impressed!!!
