In the dynamic world of field sales, every interaction offers a chance to learn something new. Today, I had the privilege of meeting an incredible retailer with over 20 years of experience running a successful store. His insights were not only profound but also incredibly simple and effective. I asked him to share his wisdom in one sentence, and his response was both enlightening and humbling: "Be humble, treat people with respect, and you're almost there. Stay true to your words, and always follow through on your commitments." These words resonate deeply with me, reinforcing the values that drive success not just in sales, but in every aspect of life. Reflecting on this, I’m reminded of the importance of authenticity and integrity in our professional journeys. Morning y’all, We are about to begin a hiring search for an Event Sales Coordinator position for our Team & it’s moments of transition or expansion we are reminded of three keys to Team Building when identifying characteristics in those we add; 1) Seek Intelligence - People follow smart people. - When we see someone intelligent do something we wouldn’t normally pick up on, we stop and wonder what do they know that we don’t & then challenge ourselves to learn more. 2) Find Divergent Thinkers - It’s hard to stand firm against popular opinion. - We feel pressure to compromise, and it’s easy at such times to lose perspective of what’s important to cling to & what isn’t. - Standing your ground when you are right about something important and being able to admit when you are wrong are both virtues… but “Being stubborn is only a virtue when you are right.” 3) Value Competitiveness above all else - We can Coach the rest. - We can Coach right & wrong, strategy & tactics, reading the room & second order thinking, but we can’t Coach a Competitive nature. - Being Competitive is nurtured over time out of an environment of commitment, sacrifice & discipline. Hey. I am thrilled to share that I recently completed a successful journey at Staples, where I played a vital role in the BELL Wireless Department as a Wireless Consultant! As a wireless consultant, I was responsible for customer relationship management and, more importantly, sales for the fastest Internet company, i.e., BELL. 💯 Quick list of Accomplishments 💯 : Boosted Sales & Store Performance: Increased sales limits, propelling the store from bottom tier to top tier. Customer Champion: Achieved a high conversion rate, turning interactions into successful sales for 75-80% of customers. Master of Communication: Developed a diverse sales pitch arsenal, effectively connecting with various customer needs. After an amazing 19.5 years, today is my last day at Kuoni. I started my career at Kuoni as a Sales Consultant in Manchester. I was ambitious but hadn't a clue what I wanted to do for a career. I decided university wasn’t for me and fell into the role after globe trotting for a few years after I left college. The warmth of the team and passion for our customers at Kuoni has never faltered. I always had bosses and leaders who were eager to listen, championed me and supported my desire to move up the ranks. I soon moved to London for a few months to support the new Kensington store opening then fulfilled my dream to work as a Business Development Executive for the Trade relations team. That was a career defining period for me. I loved driving my palm tree wrapped car to all corners of the north. The role taught me so much about relationship building, negotiation and engaging an audience and it built my confidence to move into a leadership role (aided by a dear colleague who gave me a nudge to apply for Manchester store manager). After briefly running the Manchester store alongside my Trade role, I became involved in the rapid expansion of the Kuoni store network. I went from project managing the store openings to Regional Manager and then quite quickly went on run the store network. As the role grew, I took on Trade and later launched a Virtual contact centre born out of the pandemic.  I loved every minute of the variety and learned so much. As well as my Trade days, building the retail team from scratch and watching them flourish was one of biggest career highlights. The Kuoni team’s passion and talent are what makes the business so special. Creating a thriving sales culture and empowering the team to deliver an outstanding customer experience were our obsession.  There are SO many achievements to share.. We developed a ‘People agenda’ designed to deliver a best in class experience for our team which championed recognition and personal growth. There’s our Little Book of Wow, an annual collection of treasured moments that we create for our customers.   We built our unique service philosophy ‘The Kuoni Way’, designed to empower the team to deliver exceptional service at every touch point making us famous for delivering the best customer experience in the industry. I am so proud of my career path from Sales Consultant to Sales Director over my 19 year career at Kuoni. This is testament to an incredible culture that nurtures and recognises homegrown talent. After a hugely fulfilling career, and having learned so much, I believe I have a lot to share in my new chapter as a Leadership Coach (more on that to come soon!).   But for now, an incredible chapter comes to a close. To all of the wonderful people who have been a part of my Kuoni journey, those who have mentored, supported and inspired me, those who I have laughed until I cried with (you know who you are), THANK YOU for absolutely everything.

As many know (and have even seen live in action… I’m looking at you Ellie Schroeder), I’m always selling, and ALWAYS recruiting. I’ve also always believed that great sales talent can come from anywhere! Take myself for example… from commercial driving to sales! As Ellie may remember, I’ve even recruited from a retail store we went to. (One of the first times we hung out in person, actually 🥲) Well, it happened again today - I was in an Ulta, I came in for some foundation before my vacation, and a woman came over to help me. Over our conversation, while building rapport, she’s upselling me on other products, asking me what else I may need. GREAT salesmanship. She even managed to get me to buy some mascara from Estée Lauder! I told her she was doing a great job, and that I was a salesperson too! (Like recognizes like 😉) - told her she should come work where I work! Turns out she’s spent much of her career in international business (Did I just find our next all-star international Account Executive?? We’ve got an amazing team here) We exchanged info, but regardless of what happens, the fact remains: GREAT SALES TALENT CAN COME FROM ANYWHERE!
