Oncovalue is a consortium of European cancer institutes and technical partners with a shared aim to achieve value-based assessment of novel #CancerTherapies by enabling the inclusion of high-quality #RWD in regulatory and #HTA body decision making. This will in turn lead to safer, more efficient, and affordable therapies, technologies, and digital solutions for personalised #CancerCare across the participating countries and also act as an example for the #EHDS initiative and proposed #DataGovernanceAct. It is remarkable that 4 out of 10 (39.2%) stated that financial grants or assistance for patients were not available in their country. Additionally, 21.3% did not know if financial support existed! Since the launch of the Patient Partnership Framework we have been discussing the core ideas behind the guide. But how does this translate to the real world? 👀 ERN-PaedCan are showing us how it is done! 👏 PaedCan has established a formal relationship with Childhood Cancer International - Europe (CCI Europe), in which CCI-Europe undertakes the responsibility to lead the work in the ERN for the integration of patient representatives and agrees to be involved in other activities, including training, education, and guideline development. In addition, the contract allocates a dedicated budget for CCI-Europe to develop these activities, making PaedCan the only network that has allocated a specific budget directly managed and administered by the patient representatives! The DELTA project saw the first real world use of the capsule sponge test in primary care in 2020. With the breakout of the pandemic, the team had to innovate and adapt by setting up the infrastructure to deliver clinics in mobile diagnostic units.
