In #strategicdoing, we talk about #networks being formed around a hub of some kind. This is a very interesting example: a network forming around a piece of public art (and of course the ideas behind that). What other unusual "hubs" have you encountered?
Embrace Boston Launches! Embrace Boston The Boston Foundation #racialequity #racialjustice #artandculture Lee Pelton “The Boston Foundation has had a long history of launching organizations, incubating organizations,” Paris Jeffries said, “and I think there's no better time, when we see the sentiment of DEI and affirmative action under attack, for Embrace to be launched, unapologetically and powerfully, to say, 'We are here, we are our own organization standing on our own two feet with a great big ally called the Boston Foundation backing us up.'”

This is short article about why considering Access, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (AEDI) for board development is beneficial, specifically in the area of creative arts. Financial gains should not carry the most weight during the selection process because, as pointed out in this article, it’s not always the wealthiest person who has the most power. TAKE YOUR SEAT is an “Equity Accelerator” organization created to make the process easier for companies to find the candidates needed to level up their boards. #AEDI #BoardEquity #TakeYourSeat #EquityAccelerator

I partner with curious, open minded and driven individuals/teams wanting to be more aware, impactful & efficient. Leadership & transition Coach/ Regenerative Leadership/ Systemic, embodied, trauma & neuroscience informed
Thank you to those who have already joined me on this adventure! Last December, got the urge to join in a big challenge presented by Team for the Planet to rally businesses to the cause. At that point, I'd been privately involved, had gifted a number of shares to loved ones but had not thought of my business. Those who know me and my business, will know that I put accessibility and corporate responsibility at the centre of my business model (this sounds really grand said this way for what is a relatively small business) so I felt it would be difficult for me to get involved without impacted what I had already committed to. This is when I realised that, just like their ways of operating, I did not have to go alone. The irony is not lost on me as this is a topic that comes up very often during coaching sessions...yet my default mode was 'what can I do?' and not 'what could WE do?' but luckily I had enough awareness to catch myself and this is how Stellar For The Planet was born. So I want to say a massive THANK YOU to those who joined me on this journey already, those who are still considering it and those who might join me in the future as I decided to pay it forward and invest by December 31st 2023 anyway so that worthy projects can get supported as soon as possible. It terms of the outcome, just like Team for the Planet (they still raised an astonishing 8.900.000€ out of their target of 10M€), we did not fully reach our target of 1000 euros co-generated by you and me but we got much farther than if we had not tried. I therefore decided to make this an on-going part of the Stellar offering with limited spaces each year so if you are interested in being one of the people who can help me reach my target for 2023 and more in 2024, then get in touch! #togetherwecan #leadershipcoaching #regenerativeleadership #giveandreceive #joiningforces #cocreation #stellarfortheplanet #sftp

#livingchange, changemaker, facilitator, systems change designer, process doula. Interested in endings and shifting funding practices
Here’s the latest installment from our work at The Decelerator - some practical and bigger existential questions that are becoming incredibly relevant for many of us in the social change space….
6 months into The Decelerator's pilot, Linda Craig, Louise Armstrong and I have been reflecting on how our journey into the all-too-often dark and shadowy realm of civil society's endings offers a window into some profound micro and macro shifts. We’ve returned time and again to three patterns of closure - "ending hotspots" - that offer valuable insights into the complexities of organisational sustainability and impact. These hotspots also reveal the pressing need to build the confidence and capacity of leaders, trustees, funders and all stakeholders to know when to let go and steward a good ending to unlock legacy, maximise learning and reckon with what is being lost or left behind.

I love this short interview with Evan Harrison, CEO of Kiss the Ground (also an organization I admire). " I do think success stems from building a core team, making sure the mission is crystal clear and easy for everyone to say, and then moving forward with tangible goals and measurable outcomes." I think this applies to nonprofits and for profits, large and small. He also emphasizes building trust, listening, and celebrating successes. A lot has changed over the 30+years since I began my #Fundraising and #Philanthropy career. Like many, I landed in this profession by chance, driven by a desire to align my emerging sense of purpose with my professional pursuits. Over the years, I’ve sought to combine my background in business, a lifelong dedication to racial and social justice, and a family legacy of entrepreneurship in all my endeavors. My ambitions led me to chart out my own pathway, pioneering new ways to engage philanthropic leaders and launch social ventures that harness a full range of resources. This has yielded innovative programs and unlikely partnerships, some of which have become industry models. Today, #Nonprofits, industry and professional associations, academic institutions, local businesses, multinational corporations and other affiliated groups across various sectors, industries, and regions are coming together around their mission-impact. For example, while many #STEM societies, engineering, and scientific professions are shaping the modern world through positive innovations, there remains a gap between their good work, the resources needed, and perceptions by their stakeholders. But by grounding in their unique purpose and leveraging their collective resources to expand funds, distinguish their brands, engage stakeholders, and open new business opportunities, they are able to achieve something greater than anyone could do on their own. This is mission—impact. Understanding and activating your mission-impact is the premise behind #AmplifyYourImpact, an operating philosophy, pathway, and set of practices to advance nonprofits, businesses, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and social enterprises' ability to thrive in these ever-changing, disruptive times. I am thrilled to share how to lean into your mission-impact when I present #Amplify Your Impact: Driving Sustainability Through STEM Leadership next month in Toronto at the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE) Summer Conference. I hope to see you there and learn more about how your organization is preparing for long-term success through a mission-impact approach!

Welcome to our dream future y'all ✨ it is BRIGHT when small, locally-led, community-based-organizations are given the funding, support, and resources they need to shine 🌞 Thank you to Lior from The Roddenberry Foundation for so solidly driving home this argument in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, calling out the entrenched and pervasive bias in favor of organizations at scale, and putting your weight behind small - yet mighty - orgs 💪 https://lnkd.in/g4Hq5CA3
