In my early career, I achieved something truly remarkable at the company I worked for. How remarkable? It was an extremely significant accomplishment, and everyone benefited from it—both inside and outside the company. One day, I was chatting with an executive at the company, and he was surprised to find out I was behind this achievement. "Did you know everyone's taking credit for this, and your name hasn't come up?" he said. It was frustrating, like getting sucker-punched. It’s great to share credit, as sometimes multiple people work on something simultaneously, but it made me realize that some might take advantage of that. It's important to celebrate your successes out loud. In some places, you might need to over-communicate your accomplishments. Managers: remember to give your employees the credit they deserve. It will reflect even better on you than the achievement itself. At PepsiCo we celebrate success by giving ‘smiles awards’, but also take the time to recognize our team achievements on an ongoing basis. Tag someone you are really proud off and let them know.

This has to be said again: 👇🏿 So... I went to a restaurant/bakery last week. There was an attendant there who couldn't be bothered to attend to customers. He just sat there staring into nothing. The other attendants kept calling his attention to get him to do something to help serve customers. He made me think, "why?" When you take up a job, you take up a responsibility. You can't choose to do it whenever you FEEL like. The reason you are paid is to do the job AS IT SHOULD BE DONE. You don't have to be passionate about it, though it helps, you just have to commit to getting the work done. Taking up a job is making a promise; you have to make good on your promise. Your boss/company isn't living up to expectation? It's not enough reason to not do your job as you should. Always do your part, and leave no room for criticism, especially when the criticism is correct. Until you choose to leave any organization that is not meeting expectations, do your job as best you can. "Exceptional" should be the word that describes whatever you do. You owe it to yourself. It's a brand new week. Make this week count! Success is not a moment in time, it’s a journey. And it requires sustained energy and motivation. So in recent weeks, our team has been exploring how we achieve both high and ‘optimal’ performance - considering not just occasional peaks but also sustained excellence. While all of us naturally cannot be at our best 100% of the time, each of us has the capacity to attain optimal performance. This approach puts a greater focus on personal well-being and periods of recovery – the secret to thriving CONSISTENTLY in the face of life’s challenges. We recently completed a dipstick check-in with our Europe People and Culture team at The Coca-Cola Company - and while we recognize the great results we achieved, we see a lot of opportunities to support everyone to achieve optimal performance. It fills me with immense pride to share that I've been awarded as Manager of the Year at McDonald's Glenellen for 2023 🏆 However this award goes beyond just personal achievement. The dedication of my team, has truly been the bedrock of my achievements. Their support and tireless efforts everyday have helped me to overcome challenges and have transformed potential setbacks into stepping stones for growth. This award, therefore, is a reflection of the collective spirit and the extraordinary efforts of every single member of my store. Personally it's a shared victory, celebrating the incredible teamwork and resilience that has been created through my tenure which started in 2019. Personally the complexities of both work and academic commitments has certainly posed a substantial challenge to me. However it has been immensely beneficial for my growth on both a personal and professional level. This balancing act has not only demonstrated my ability to manage diverse commitments effectively but has also pushed me to excel in both areas. It stands as a powerful reminder of what perseverance and dedication can achieve. My time spent at McDonald's has filled me with both gratitude and happiness. This is due to my McDonalds journey offering me invaluable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and adaptability. Dunkin Donuts 🍩 marked the beginning of my work life at the age of 16. Rising early, I'd often declare, "time to make the donuts." Passing by the exact location I worked at this weekend prompted my reflection on the invaluable lessons it taught me about business management and teamwork.   - Acknowledge the pivotal roles of your team and customers in sustaining your business. - Emphasize the importance of a robust operational framework. This Dunkin Donuts operated 24 hours a day and supplied donuts to other locations. Any mishaps here affected multiple stores and customers. Effective communication and coordination were imperative for successful execution. - Take note of your customers' preferences, dislikes, moods, and triggers. I swiftly learned that preparing coffee exactly as my regular customers preferred, ready for them before they reached the counter, significantly brightened their day. - A warm smile and genuine inquiries such as "how are you?" or "safe commute?" laid the foundation for building relationships. - Extend the above principles to interactions with your co-workers and team. - Show support for your team by being present and willing to assist, even if the task is not within your designated role. #leadership #businessmanagement #teamwork #customerexperience #peoplefirst

As I conclude my rewarding two-year assignment at PepsiCo, I reflect on the remarkable journey that commenced amid the challenges of the COVID pandemic and a move to the Netherlands with my family. Despite uncertainties, our determination led to a successful settlement, laying the foundation for future endeavours. Following a brief career break, I realized a long-awaited dream of establishing my own company, InFinHorizons, in October 2021. Subsequently, RGP presented an engaging opportunity with PepsiCo to support the Tropicana Brands Group (TBG), a joint venture with PIA investments in the juice business. Little did I know that this engagement would extend to two years, making me an integral part of a dedicated and special team that consistently delivered golden standards. My sincere thanks to the PepsiCo Europe Central Finance Reporting team, project team and Europe TBG team for providing a rich and rewarding experience. Congratulations to everyone involved in establishing TBG and efforts to bring it to independence. I am delighted to share that my journey continues with TBG in January 2024. I want to highlight key attributes that contributed to my journey’s success, both personally and professionally—diversity, adaptability to change, nurturing strong relationships, and dynamic collaborative teamwork. Diversity: Having lived in diverse countries and collaborated with colleagues worldwide, fostering an understanding of various cultures, languages, foods, and lifestyles. Technological advancements in collaborative tools and social networking have facilitated continued virtual interactions, further enhancing this experience. Remember the person on the other side is also a person. Building Strong Relationships: Start by identifying your needs and the types of relationships to build. Authenticity is essential; build trust through genuineness and reliability, consistently following through on commitments. Be respectful, open-minded and willing to learn from others, considering new ideas and perspectives. Embracing Change: Recognize change as essential for growth, adapt, and actively drive change for success. Teamwork: Success is achieved through clear common goals and collaborative efforts, with team members trusting each other for collective accomplishments. Don't forget to celebrate successes and learn from mistakes.
