The role a teacher plays as not only an educator, but a mentor, a friend, a confidant, and a trusted adult is so critical to the success of students at our programs. Teachers drive the change we can see from students in their education, which directly impacts their overall life. Here are some things to think about when it comes to the education kids are receiving: 🎓Education is one of the main keys to the success for kids. Especially underprivileged kids who often end up as students in our programs. 🎒Education is one of the places where students can feel rewarded, see achievements, and envision success in their future, which is critical for their long term goals. 🏫Education produces hope, which is a powerful feeling. This teachers appreciation week, we want to encourage people everywhere to say thank you to their teacher friends, family, and acquaintances and help advocate for education professionals everywhere. Doing amazing work and changing lives takes a lot of hard work and passion, and we are thankful our educators have that day in and day out in their roles at ROP. #Teacherappreciation #Educators #Educationprofessionals #Underprivelagedyouth #youthempowerment #Youthadvocacy

𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐛𝐞, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞? 💭🏫 Education is every child’s right and has the power to transform their lives. Providing them access to it allows them to reach their full potential and become society’s next leaders. As we prepare for the new school year, let’s remember that children are the primary stakeholders in their education. #VoiceofChildren advocates for child participation and asks decision-makers to listen and consider children’s opinions when creating academic policies and developmental programs for them. By involving children, we can create genuine student-centered learning environments and help them achieve their goals for themselves and the wider community.

Good, better, best, we can help with your High School quest! 📚 We are making this a #SharingSaturday by sharing tips that help Parents, Families, and Students pick the best High School for them. Choosing the right High School for a Student is a significant decision that can impact their academic and personal development! 🎓 As Parents and Families research, they should primarily consider: 1) the availability of support services, workforce training, special education programming, and counseling opportunities 2) the range of academic programs, courses, and extracurricular activities 3) all aspects within a school’s culture and learning environment (i.e., safety measures, Teacher-Student relationships) Parents and Families should also involve their Student(s) in school decision-making to incorporate their preferences and aspirations! Additionally, seeking input from Teachers, Counselors, and other Parents can provide valuable perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of different High Schools. 💡 At Iowa Choice Charter School, we provide as many resources as possible so Students and their Families can make informed decisions! ✅ #SharingIsCaring #ShareKnowledge #Education #WeCanHelp #HighSchoolChoice #Parents #Families #SupportServices #WorkforceTraining #SpecialEducation #Counseling #AcademicPrograms #Courses #ExtracurricularActivities #Culture #LearningEnvironment #Strengths #Weaknesses #InformedDecisions #RightForYou

A Heartfelt Reflection on Special Education In the quiet moments between the lessons, when I see the spark of understanding in a child's eyes, I am reminded of why we do what we do. Special education is not just a profession; it's a calling—a promise to give every child a voice, a place, and a path to their fullest potential. I've come across an article that, without saying much, speaks volumes. It's about innovative lesson plans, yes, but it's also about the spirit of special education—the courage to innovate, the passion to understand, and the love to empower. As I share this piece with you, I invite you to reflect on the beauty of our mission. To consider how each small step we take is a giant leap for the learners who look to us for guidance, inspiration, and hope. Let's continue to be the change-makers, the pathfinders, and the dream-weavers in the tapestry of education. Because in every challenge lies an opportunity to make a difference. #SpecialEducation #Pathfinders #ChangeMakers #DreamWeavers #EducationForAll With warmth and solidarity, Jess 5 Innovative Special Education Lesson Plans to Engage Diverse Learners https://lnkd.in/guRvFKSc

Do we really believe all children can learn? I do. I believe that every student can learn and has the ability inside of them to grow and progress. Some may learn more than others and in different ways, but all #students can learn and should be treated with respect. In addition, for all students to learn, they need PROPER: ☑️ Access ☑️ Resources ☑️ Support ☑️ Instruction In conjunction with the above ⬆️, do we believe that teacher performance has a direct impact on student learning? I do. #teachers #education #reading #literacy #earlychildhood #k12education #principals #instructionalcoaching #edleadership #superintendents #highered

Another key component of our intervention is expert support. Literacy First tutors are paraprofessionals who go through extensive training before beginning their work on campuses. But teaching children requires flexibility and can be different in practice than in theory! To support our tutors and help them adapt to their students’ needs throughout the school year, Literacy First staff visit campuses weekly to coach tutors. With our District Capacity Building Model (DCBM) we also train a Partner Coach who supports campuses alongside the Literacy First Coach. Partner Coaches eventually take over the role of being the primary coach for tutors as they work toward operating our program independently. Our Coaches are all skilled in early childhood literacy education and most have classroom teaching experience as well. While on campuses, they observe lessons and provide feedback, ensure program fidelity, and collaborate with tutors (and Partner Coaches) to make instructional changes. Literacy First and Partner Coaches also review student data to ensure they are responding to the lessons and accelerating their reading skills. They adjust instruction as needed for students who may need a different approach and identify students who are ready to graduate from the program. This expertise is critical to our program model to make sure our paraprofessional tutors have the tools and knowledge to give their students the support they need to thrive. #LiteracyFirst #LiteracyIntervention #LiteracyProgram #EarlyLiteracy #EducationCareers #LiteracyExperts

JWB is dedicated to fostering an educational environment where every child thrives, and that starts with being present in school. 🌟 Taking Action for Success: Engaging students and families is essential for addressing the absenteeism, enrollment declines, and educational inequities that have been exacerbated by the pandemic. 💡 Reducing Dropouts: Did you know that students chronically absent in 6th grade tend to have lower achievement than their peers? And high school students with chronic absenteeism are 7.4 times more likely to drop out? 🤝 Quality Mentoring Matters: Quality mentoring enhances attendance and academic achievement. By offering guidance, support, and a positive role model, we can create an environment where students feel inspired to show up and thrive. Unleashing Potential: The Impact of Family Involvement in Education When families get involved in education, it’s a game-changer for students. Research consistently shows that kids do better across the board when their families engage with their learning. It’s not just about better grades. It’s about nurturing confident, motivated learners who are ready to take on the world. A simple chat about their school day or helping with homework can make a big difference. It leads to kids feeling valued and understood, which boosts their wellbeing and their willingness to participate in class. And when kids feel supported, they're more likely to stick with school and even aim for higher education. What’s more, this family factor can help bridge gaps in education, giving all kids, regardless of background, a fair shot at success. As educators, it's our job to encourage this partnership and make it easy for every family to get involved. When we do, we're not just educating a child; we're uplifting entire communities. If adults make every effort to connect home and school. It's a partnership that pays off in spades for our students' futures. #montessori #family #life #children #teacher #school
