When we talk about sports in India, Cricket gets all the limelight. Of late, due to the Olympic medals, some other sports like Boxing, Weight lifting and athletics have also got some eyeballs and attention. But yet, the road is too far to cover. Kickboxing is one such sport. Like most other combat sports, Kickboxing too is struggling to get a foothold. An individual sport calls for extra efforts. More so in combat sports. Most of the athletes in combat sports come from lesser privileged economic backgrounds. There is barely any support. Yet they go out, compete and fetch medals for their States and the Country. The North East has produced a few Olympians in Boxing, despite limited infrastructure support. BRUTE Fight Club, Nagaon, Assam trains medal winning prospects or winners, free.
