Strategy Consultant - 6 years in Strategic Planning, they call me the problem solver Looking for Analyst, Associate, and Consultant positions within Strategy or Operations

Hello LinkedIn network. I am currently looking for my next opportunity. This is my 3rd month of unemployment. I really thought 2024 would be different for me. This year has been a challenge so far. The first weekend of 2024 a family member passed away. Literally every day of this year so far I have gotten a job rejection (Including 2 today). Daily I check my emails and I see rejection email after rejection email.    I have applied to over 1200 jobs since my unemployment began in November 2023. I have gotten 4 interviews. I have spent over $1,000 on resume services. I change my resume according to the job I apply to which has not worked either. I am hopeful and optimistic that I will find a job soon.   What I have found in this job search is that there is a lack of #compassion and #empathy . Some people are just so mean. Where is #kindness and #nice gone? The kinds of conversations I have in the few networking call that I have had are:    “How did you ever get any of your previous jobs? You don’t seem qualified at all” “It will be a challenge for you to get back into the job market with your job history.”   If you don’t have anything nice to say, then please don’t say anything at all.    Before anyone says start your own business, that’s too much and I have my health to focus on.    I have reached out to over 1400 people, 20 people have replied to me, only 6 people have either talked to me or have agreed to talk to me. Most of the replies I have gotten are not friendly. It’s embarrassing an ifd humiliating being left on read by so many people. I have changed the way I message people and still don’t get many replies. I get that everyone is busy, but doesn’t take much to take 15 minutes out of your day to talk. When I was employed, if anyone ever reached out to me, would always talk to them. You never know what someone is going through. So I always did what I can to assist. This job search has caused so much stress for me. Once you have heart surgery, you are supposed to avoid stress as much as you can. It has been so frustrating. I am supposed to focus on my health, but this job search does not allow it. I just want an opportunity. I hope some company will give me a chance.    I am interested in #strategy roles, #analysts, #businessanalyst, #associate , #consultant roles. Last few years I have worked in #consulting and have worked with various industries. I am open to any industry. I can relocate #national or #international. Times have changed and I know one of the best ways to find a job is through networking. I hope through my #network and #networking that I find my next opportunity. I ask that you please like, comment, and share my post for better reach. Thank You Everyone. #strategy #openforwork #opetntoconnect #jobsearch #opentonewconnections #opentonewopportunities #newopportunities #lookingforwork #readytowork #jobhunting #layoffs #opentowork #unemployed #jobseeker

Riz, create a new job on your work history that says "Currently seeking role1 , role2 , role3" and mark it as your present place of work. It will help recruiters using LinkedIn's recruiter search feature find you easier. Also, don't feel embarrassed and humiliated. It's not your fault you're in the situation you are. Chin up, shoulders back. Act like you've been here before. Don't let you know who have this power over you. When you know your worth, their kangaroo court holds no jurisdiction over you.

Trust me my man I know exactly what you mean. People will only reach they hand out to people they really wanna work with. I’m sorry you have had to go through this. What area are you located in? Let me know and I will definitely see if I have some people in your area so they can help you out.

I’m sorry you are going through this but know you are not alone. You are probably not doing anything wrong either. This job market is brutal and the worst I’ve ever personally dealt with. The “experts and grifters” will try to make you feel like it’s your fault or like you are doing something wrong. Don’t let them gaslight you. God willing you will land on your feet sooner than later. Super cliche but what doesn’t kill us does make us stronger. God bless.

You aren't alone... Ive also been fully unemployed since October. My unemployment has run out, and I am currently giving plasma to collect any kind of finances... I have also filled out for hundreds of jobs, probably thousands, and there was a rejection every single day, sometimes 2 or 3 in 1 day. Some I still havnt even heard back from yet and they are still apparently holding the position open for applications eventhough some like myself that have applied have over 5 years experience. It's quite discouraging actually. I eventually soon after realizing the condition of the entertainment industry, I had to apply pretty much anywhere I could... Applied at Walmart, nothing.. applied at Lowes, nothing... Applied even being a prison guard and they have 52 openings for a state detention center, got denied... It's almost like with the condition of the economy, not many places even though they may post an opening, would actually want to take the jump for hiring. I am selling things and giving plasma to eat... And my bills are starting to really fall behind, hopefully tax returns clear that up temporarily though. Just know you're not alone.

Hey Rizwan....we don't know each other, but I'd love to help if I can. While Q+ Equality Foundation doesn't currently have any job openings, we work with a network of companies that are hiring and are proud to consider themselves people-first companies. They actively support LGBTQ+ equality and welcome not only Q+ Talent, but also Q+ Allies! Check out our job board and see if there's a match for you. If so, apply directly through the site, but then send me a PM letting me know which role you applied for. I'm happy to reach out to our internal contact and give them a heads up to look out for your resume. Hope this helps. https://jobs.qplusequality.org/jobs

Have you considered applying to something easy to stretch your savings? Maybe that would reduce some stress. I know it's not glamorous but many places give medical benefits for working part-time.

AndrewPaul (AP) McIntosh This is my former colleague and friend, Riz. Can we assist in getting him some reach? Riz is a capable, intelligent, respectful, and kind person. Any company would be receiving an asset of the highest order by hiring him.

I’ve looked at your work history, and understand the issue. My recommendation is for you to start working for a consulting company as an independent contractor. That will stop the future gaps in your work history.

If it’s any consolation, I know people from top tech companies who got laid off and are struggling to find another role. It’s definitely not you, it’s this garbage job market!
