Navigate Middle Eastern Business Culture with Confidence | Overcome Communication Barriers, understand Cultural Nuances, and build strong Business Relationships | Speaker
One of the key pillars of Vision 2030 in Saudi is about giving women more opportunities. Yes this should be the norm, I hear you… but let’s not forget that in 2010 work participation was only 20% of women. So the goal is now to get this up to 40%. Great sectors are Tourism and Hospitality - these are areas that barely existed before all the changes. Plus this is a sector that leads by example because the Vice Tourism Minister is a women Princess Haifa bint Mohammed Alsaud. You can’t just have a Vision - you also need to demonstrate it by example. This is exactly what is happening here. And of course so many in the West will say: this should have always been the case. But we need to give credit where credit is due - sometimes things move slower in other cultures and it is great to see this shift now. #middleeast #saudiarabia #saudi Ps. If you want to learn more about Saudi and how you can find opportunities for yourself, I am hosting another FREE webinar on 18 July: https://lnkd.in/eBjKY9x7

Empowering strides for Saudi women in the workforce! According to S&P Global Ratings, the increasing participation of women in Saudi Arabia’s workforce could boost the country’s economy by $39 billion or 3.5% by 2032. 📈✨ Labour market reforms have led to a remarkable rise in female workforce participation, reaching approximately 36% in 2022, compared to 19% in 2016. As women contribute significantly, the Kingdom anticipates an annual real GDP growth of 0.3 percentage points, aiming for 2.4% per annum. The surge in female representation is attributed to expanded childcare and transport services, creating new opportunities in sectors like tourism. Educational advancements and progressive government measures, including allowing women to drive and easing business startup requirements, have also played pivotal roles. The future hinges on enhancing workforce productivity, with S&P highlighting the importance of capital investment and human capital development. The Kingdom's commitment to Vision 2030 could pave the way for sustainable growth rates of 4-5%. . . . #saudiwomen #saudiarabia #women #womeninbusiness #business #womenleaders #businessleaders

Q5's Jennifer Gramolt was recently invited to participate in a panel discussion at the Oman-UK Business Forum, focused on how to enable women to access the current economic and commercial growth that Oman is investing in as part of the Oman Vision 2040. Panellists shared insights on what has worked in other markets and regions globally and how these learnings can be applied to empower women economically in Oman. As Jen commented, with 70% of private entrepreneurs in Oman being women, and with more female than male engineers graduating there every year, the scene is set for new Omani industries such as green hydrogen to potentially be world-leading and women-led! Hosted by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman - Cultural Division in collaboration with the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce and held at The Savoy in London, the forum aimed to highlight investment opportunities in Oman and the pivotal role of the private sector and SMEs in driving economic growth. #Oman #EconomicEmpowerment #WomenInBusiness #OmanUKForum #InvestmentOpportunities #SMEs #GlobalInsights

> Managing a family of 5 children > Leading Al Jaber group with over 55,000 employees > Making $9 billion in assets and $2.8 billion in revenue Meet Fatima Al-Jaber, COO of the $9 billion Al-Jaber Group and a mother of five. She was born into a business family but forged her own path by working in the government sector. Despite the initial challenges of balancing her career and family responsibilities, she joined Al Jaber Group and other organisations, such as the Abu Dhabi Business Women's Council, as chairperson and was elected as the first Emirati woman to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. Reading her story made me realise these 4 key lessons from her: 1) Continuous learning and growth: Her decision to gain experience in the government sector even after having a family business and a family to manage highlights the importance of continuous learning and personal growth. 2) Balancing priorities: Fatima's ability to juggle her responsibilities as a mother of five and a successful business leader serves as a testament to the significance of prioritising and striking a balance between personal and professional commitments. 3) Redefining societal norms: After joining businesses and various organisations, Fatima challenged traditional gender roles and societal expectations. Her story encourages women to redefine societal norms and pursue their ambitions without compromising their personal identities. 4) Strategic networking: Fatima's involvement in organisations demonstrates the importance of strategic networking and building influential connections to drive change and create opportunities. It's an inspiring story about continuously learning, advocating for positive change, and never shying away from breaking barriers. Did you know her story already? #womenempowerment #entrepreneurstory
