This week, there was a video on CBS showing the impact the PMC has had on raising funds for research and treatment for cancer patients, resulting in increasing survival rates. Take a look when you have a moment: https://lnkd.in/eckeV7MU Still riding!! With the 200 PMC miles two weeks ago (192, plus 8 to team party), on top of 1237 training rides, did a 36 mi ride last week, and another 32 mi this morning, making 1,505 road miles ridden so far this year for PMC! Good evening and Happy Tuesday everyone!! Hope all is well.  Can't believe PMC 2024 last weekend is over! It came and went very quickly. From an overview perspective, PMC 2024 was a rough 2 days, weather-wise, with high heat and brutal humidity, but we were able to make it through!  Saturday was very warm, beginning when we left for Sturbridge, MA at 4:30am. Right away, with the air being thick, heavy and wet, we knew it was a day not to be too aggressive and push, but rather to cruise, stay hydrated and get in, which is what we did, starting at 5:30am. Sun was high, very hot and unrelenting. Lots of electrolyte powder in our water bottles and electrolyte salt tabs, which in combination with the water we drank, kept us hydrated. Sunday was still humid, but a little cooler and cloud covered, when we left at 5am in the dark, crossed the Bourne Bridge at two riders abreast in the blocked off far right lane, then on the Cape Cod Canal, services roads, Rail Trail, on and off Route 6, and finally back onto Route 6 in Wellfleet, pushing through high sun, heat and head and cross winds in the North Truro dunes, into Provincetown, some final burn hills and in. For fun, we biked back another 8 miles to our Team Brent team party in North Truro, for 200 total miles. Done!! During tough conditions on the bike, and when our back, hips, legs, knees, butt, arms, shoulders and hands/wrists are sore, tight, and numb, we are reminded about why we ride: Cancer victims who we have lost, cancer victims currently fighting, and cancer victims who have survived and overcome. We all have a story…and we know someone directly impacted by cancer. This picture below is with our pedal partner Jace, who has fortunately battled pediatric neuroblastoma cancer and survived, Thank God. For these reasons, we continue to fight. Thank you to each of you, my family, friends, colleagues, teammates, riding partners, donors, and supporters of every kind. It's a team effort. Your sacrifice enables me to train and do what I need to do. Thank you all very much. I deeply appreciate it.  We together fight the fight to make a difference by improving research, treatment, clinical trials and survival rates…taking one step closer to finding a cure. With $1 Billion plus raised since 1980, we, together with the PMC and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, have made tremendous progress. Thank you again to everyone. As an update, only 4 days to go to PMC 2024, August 3-4, 2024 (registration F 8/2/24)! As a reminder, the Pan-Mass Challenge is a two-day, 192 mile cycling fundraiser from Sturbridge, MA to Provincetown, MA on the tip of Cape Cod. All funds (100%) raised go directly to the PMC for Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston for life saving research and clinical trials, treatment and services. From a training perspective, this past Saturday, I rode 62 miles, and yesterday, I did another 43 cycling road miles, for 105 total miles in 2 days! I've ridden 1,237 road miles for PMC 2024 and have FINISHED my outdoor training! Little gym work for strength, core/stretching and light Spin this week. Otherwise, resting and getting ready to hit it hard for PMC 2024 this upcoming weekend!!
