We've been busy gathering more data at DiverseTalent and here's a snippet of some recent info we've gathered from 400 candidates on the platform. Interestingly but also unsurprisingly the top searched value for job seekers was a clear promotion process. 🟪One of the top reasons people leave their companies is due to a lack of clear progression. Lack of clear progression leads to boredom, disengagement, loss of confidence, and a resignation email. 🟣In some cases, companies may actually have promotion plans set up but due to a myriad of reasons including lack of manager training, biases, sexism, racism, and discrimination, those in underrepresented groups within these companies are held back from progression, despite strong performances. 💜If you want to retain your talent then spend the time designing some clear, transparent plans (this part is important, nobody should be left wondering why someone else got promoted) with tangible measurables and ensure you have more than one person taking part in the review to help offset bias.
