Today's Wow Me Wednesday is highlighting a company in San Antonio called: Project MEND. https://lnkd.in/gJefmfQs Mission: Project MEND (Medical Equipment Network for those with Disabilities) is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities and illnesses through the refurbishment, reuse, and distribution of medical equipment and other assistive technology. Do you have a family member who had a wheelchair, scooter, bathroom assist, C-PAP machine, Special beds, etc. and don't know what to do with it after they have passed away? Donate it to Project MEND. Your donation will will help Project MEND to continue connecting individuals living with disabilities and illnesses to much-needed Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Project MEND does this by collecting used DME, that we repair, refurbish, and sanitize to the State of Texas Health Department’s Standards at our Headquarters & Fulfillment Center. Once available, Project MEND distributes the equipment to individuals in need who present with a prescription (Rx) or Letter of Medical Necessity from their licensed healthcare provider. Project MEND’s main beneficiaries are low-income individuals living with a disability and/or life-altering illness. We are the ONLY organization providing refurbished medical equipment in South Texas. When an individual living with a disability needs medical equipment to remain mobile, independent, or engaged in life, and has limited financial resources, they often go without the “luxury” of the equipment needed for them to live safely. Having the right pieces of medical equipment available when needed positively impacts their quality of life through increased mobility, self-sufficiency, and independence.
