Like I mentioned earlier this year, I’m in the middle of a career shift as I realized PR in women’s basketball may not really be it for me. Don’t get me wrong, I might accept the right role if it comes across, but the constrains that come with being part of a WNBA front office don’t really align with how I see myself contributing to the conversation during this moment of outstanding growth in this industry. So, I decided to go back into writing and reporting. I was terrified of putting myself out there and things going wrong. What if I was wrong about something? What if people made fun of me because English is not my first language? What if people just plainly ignored me? What if… I took a deep breath and went for it. Now, take a look at the screenshots below. I leveraged my relationships and understanding of women’s basketball fans to report on something that seems small, but had an amazing reach. However, mostre importantly, I took this as an opportunity to build credibility. Now, just for this month, my Twitter account reached 354k impressions with 3.5% engagement. That’s a personal account, without ties to brands or a fan base. I guess I made the right decision. 🙂

Wow, what an inspiring journey you're on! It takes immense courage to step out of a comfortable role and venture into something new, especially with the uncertainties and doubts you've faced. Your willingness to take that leap and trust in your own abilities is truly commendable ✊🏾
