Former two-time intern and current colleague Ryan did exactly that, and now he’s back with tips for interns who want to make the most of their experience. Among the many things Amneal continues to evolve in and bring excellence to, the intern program is providing meaningful project work and learning experiences while giving the intern team opportunities to meet and directly interact with industry giants like Andy and Sean. Much lower on the totem pole, I had an opportunity to meet with our interns a couple of weeks back to explain a little bit about what Total Rewards does, give them some insights into how pay is determined, and offer some negotiation tips for their first post-grad position. Very importantly (a bit biased here...), I spent a good amount of time explaining the value & importance (again, a bit biased...) of a strong, holistic benefits design that supports all of the wonderful - and sometimes not so wonderful - situations that make up our life's journey. I also explained how they can use these programs' value proposition as a window into the type of organization/culture that they are likely to find as a full-time team member. I can proudly say that the Total Rewards team has built a leading package that is emblematic of the entrepreneurial, family-built spirit that lives on within Amneal today. It starts at the top, and we are blessed to have an executive leadership who believes in that investment just as much as we do. Just like other areas of Amneal, we see where we can do better to make healthy possible as we continue to grow & diversify. That goal gets us up every morning and keeps us going enthusiastically even when that work/life dance needs a little more on the work side. Hoping to see many of today's interns as full-time Amneal colleagues in the days to come!

This month, we are celebrating our Purpose at Zoetis. I’m constantly reminded of how our R&D organization leans into our purpose – nurturing the world and humankind by advancing care for animals – every day whether exploring new targets, mining our vast databases, or collaborating with each other and external stakeholders to progress our portfolio. This summer, our R&D organization includes several dozen interns, and I recently had the opportunity to connect with them to hear about their work embedded in different teams across our organization from mechanistic biology and analytical chemistry & supply to bioprocess and product sciences to communications and global biologics research. Our R&D interns’ thoughtful questions were informed by current topics in science, and I shared my advice with them, while also taking away learnings from their perspectives. First, collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst team members is crucial for us to collectively advance our innovative products and help each other grow as scientists and leaders. And, with misinformation on the rise, it is more crucial than ever that we stay curious, ask questions, be open to changing our perspective and be willing to learn – and share those learnings with our teams. Next, we discussed balancing work and life – I believe it is important to be true to yourself and what you need to feel fulfilled in both aspects. Finally, it should be no surprise that we discussed artificial intelligence. AI represents exciting and important tools, that we are widely embracing to make our R&D processes more efficient and effective; however, there will always be a critical need for human ingenuity, intuition and critical thinking that we as scientists bring to the innovation process. There is no doubt in my mind that the future of science is bright thanks to our purpose-driven colleagues, complemented this summer, by our interns’ fresh takes and firm grasp of new technologies. 39% of Harlem Capital’s intern alums have held full time VC positions! I went through HCP’s intern program too! So did Gabby Cazeau, a Partner at the firm now. Nicole: Intern ➡️ Principal Gabby: Intern ➡️ Partner Our internship is a 10-week program that occurs 3 times per year, with winter, summer and fall cohorts. Each cohort consists of 6 interns and 1-2 fellows (returning interns). We’ve had 111 interns over the last 6 years. The impact that the HCP intern program has had is undeniable. - 39% of intern alums have held full time VC positions - 9% of all Black & Latino investors in the ecosystem are HCP intern alums - 2% of all Black & Latino checkwriters in VC are HCP intern alums And our interns have a meaningful impact on HCP. - 2 of the 60 investments HCP has made were sourced by interns - 3+ of the 60 HCP investments have had intern alums as co-investors - 1 intern alum is an HCP LP It’s clear that Harlem Capital is making and moving the diversity market. Our impact has a ripple effect throughout the ecosystem helping more people than just those we touch directly. You won't believe what happened to me yesterday. It started as a normal day at work, attending the Pharma Exchange event at Genentech with around 50-odd people. The leadership team was sharing valuable insights about the organization. Then, the floor opened for questions. Hesitant at first, I raised my hand, asked what to expect as a summer intern, and sought tips for myself and my fellow interns. The CEO and leadership team provided amazing advice, but that’s not the point. The event ended, and I went back to my desk. Soon, people began reaching out to appreciate me for raising my hand and asking the question. When ten people mentioned it, I realized it wasn’t just those 50 people in the room – 30,000 people had seen me ask that question. How did I find out? I reached out to the leadership panel, introducing myself, thanking them for their insights, and requesting a coffee chat. That’s when a Senior VP responded, telling me how impressed the panel was and that now, I have a network of 30,000 people I can potentially have coffee chats with. To everyone out there who thinks building a network is just about sending LinkedIn invites and having thousands of followers – building a network takes effort every single day. It takes courage to leave an impression in the room. You have to be humble and ask for opportunities. My experience taught me never to be scared or hesitant to ask a question in a room full of people – even if you gain just one good connection or none at all. Always be curious, ready to learn, and ready to adapt. These are the values my Dad instilled in me, and I thank him every day for giving me the courage and confidence to step forward.
