CEO and Chief Recruitment Officer at American Airlines

We doubled down on our commitment to run a reliable and profitable airline in 2023, and the #AATeam delivered. Our focus led to another year of record, operational and financial results for American Airlines, and I know there is even more opportunity ahead. We’ve carried the momentum into 2024, and we’re building a more efficient and resilient airline that will benefit every aspect of our business from our customers to our team members and to our stockholders. Thank you to our incredible team members for leading us to tremendous results. Here’s to an even better 2024.

The CEO of American Airlines loves to use “record breaking” and “best ever” to describe the operation and profits until he’s asked about why he hasn’t provided flight attendants an industry LEADING contract, then he flips the tables and pouts about how the airline “isn’t profitable enough” and “didn’t do as well as Delta.” So which is it, Robert? If you’re going to post brags, you need to share the wealth with your team who can barely survive while you take millions in bonuses! Shameful!

Robert … You are really out of touch with how the operation works in IOC. You love to talk about how successful AA is and all the “numbers” you sprew out for the sake of stock holders. Sadly, the management team below you scramble on a daily basis to justify their positions only screw up because of their lack of experience. Do you even realize how bad a shape our Delhi Opertaion is ??? Or do you just rely on management’s “puppets” to feed you whatevah information you want to here ?? I invite you to spend a full shift on IOC sometime rather then 20minutes on the platform In the back of IOC with the guy from CNBC to announce every quarterly report I invite you to spend a full 9hrs shift in IOC with me… I think you will realized some thing you otherwise would not be aware of …. And don’t even get me started this failed flight planning system called Flight Keys?? If you really want to know the truth you should stop by. Plenty of us want to make AA work BUT ??

All the work groups at American Airlines make these accomplishments possible. I would like to see AA conclude its contract with its incredible Flight Attendants and make it happen right away. Without them, the planes cannot fly. Remember the Strike on Nov. 18, 1993? History may repeat itself - I hope not.

American is paying 1.1% profit sharing to their employees, while Delta and United are 9% and higher. Shame on you Mr.Isom. You need to put your supposed intentions into actions. Your employees are your money makers, they will not continue to help the company profit if you keep treating them this way.

It won’t be long before major companies like American Airlines lose all of their frontline workers or a large enough chunk to make a HUGE difference in your BILLLIONS of dollars of profit if you continue to EXPLOIT them. $27,000-$29,000 is NOT ENOUGH TO LIVE OFF OF while WE are making YOU record breaking profits and then you add in 1.1% profit sharing to rub it in our face? POWER TO THE PEOPLE WE ARE READY THIS IS NOT OKAY WE ARE FIRED UP IT IS TIME FOR A BIG CHANGE DO WHAT IS RIGHT

These wonderful numbers came at the expense of your front line workers. I understand the need to weigh profits and payouts to stockholders, but eventually your frontline workers will revolt if they are not taken care of or feel rejected. There is a way to achieve satisfaction for all involved if you look at the big picture. Don’t lose site of that. Think outside the box to make everyone happy. If you can’t, hire new negotiators.

As a retired employee it makes me sad to see this forum become an outlet for angry, disgruntled employees who seem not to be able to express any gratitude for their good fortune to be working for such a great and well-led company. I have no doubt that the vast majority of employees look forward to every working day at American where they can proudly be of service to the travelling public, and that their positive attitudes toward their work make American the great airline that it is. That said, there is a pervasive "me first" attitude on all sides of the bargaining table at American. As a result, there is a perception in the investment community that shareholders are of little concern to either the company or its employees. This has the disadvantage of making the raising of capital much more expensive than it needs to be, and ultimately leads to frustrating career stagnation instead of growth for all involved. I am confident in your abilities to resolve this and any other issue at American for the long-term benefit of the company and the travelling public that you serve even if it means something slightly less than top dollar for everything that you do. Good luck to all.

Does this mean that we will finally get an industry leading contract for flight attendants in 2024? Also why are we getting 1.1% in profit sharing and Delta is getting 10.3%?

Pay your flight attendants!!

Yeah, it only took 3 decades to figure out the secret, incentivise you workforce, instead of antagonizing.
