📣The news from the University of the National Education Commission in Krakow (previously Pedagogical University in Krakow) A hybrid workshop format was utilized, with 9 participants attending in person and online, primarilyconsisted of lecturers in social sciences, with a notable familiarity with NBS. The workshopeffectively conveyed NBS concepts and received unanimous praise for its clarity and the quality ofcase studies presented. 🧐 During the workshop participants shared examples ofintegrating NBS-related content into their courses,highlighting its practical relevance. In general, theworkshop emphasized the importance of educatingeconomics students about NBS and its relevance to futureemployment. Overall, participants found the workshop andassociated study highly valuable, providing newknowledge and clear guidance.👍

I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the people who work hard to improve the level of our students in the higher education system in Chile. Although the work is hard and there is not enough funding, we continue to work and have valid and well-founded collaborations. Among the people who deserve our thanks are: Teachers: They are the ones who are on the front line, teaching classes, guiding students and assessing their learning. Researchers: They are the ones who generate new knowledge and develop new technologies that contribute to improving the quality of education. Administrators: Those who are responsible for managing resources and creating the conditions necessary for students and academic staff to perform optimally. Support staff: These are the people who provide essential services to the university community, such as librarians, laboratory technicians, maintenance and security staff. They all work tirelessly to ensure that our students receive a quality education and are able to achieve their professional goals. I would especially like to highlight the work of Chilean researchers, who despite limited funding, have managed to position Chile as a reference in scientific research in Latin America. This achievement is even more significant considering that investment in research in Chile is one of the lowest in the region. I would also like to highlight the potential for collaboration between Chilean and Indian scientists. India is a country with a great scientific and technological tradition, and has world-class researchers in many areas. I am sure that collaboration between Chilean and Indian scientists could lead to important advances in research and development. Finally, I would like to thank all the students who strive every day to learn and excel. They are the future of Chile, and their success will depend to a large extent on the work we do today. Gratitude and hope On behalf of all Chilean students, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those who are working hard to improve the quality of higher education in Chile. Despite the difficulties, I am confident that together we can build a higher education system of excellence, enabling our students to reach their full potential and contribute to the development of the country. Call for action I invite all relevant actors of the higher education system in Chile to continue working together to improve the quality of education. I also call on the government to increase investment in higher education, especially in research. I am convinced that education is the best investment we can make for the future of Chile. Querida red, comparto nuestro artículo publicado en la Revista Issues in Educational Research (Q2 en SJR) Cultural heritage education for high school students in Colombia: A socially appropriate measurement scale Abstract: The social appreciation of cultural heritage is a process where knowledge, values and relationships that people develop around their heritage assets converge. In the absence of validated instruments to measure this construct, this study has focused on designing and validating a Measurement Scale for the Social Appreciation of Cultural Heritage (MS-SACH) for high school students. The questionnaire's content has been approved by nine experts and applied to a pilot sample to assess its comprehension. For construct validation, the questionnaire was applied to a sample of 304 students. The confirmatory factor analysis allowed the retention of ten items grouped into three factors associated with the social appreciation of cultural heritage: (1) knowledge about cultural heritage; (2) values attributable to cultural heritage; and (3) heritage linkages. The results allow us to conclude that the scale developed presents evidence of validity and reliability, whose contribution can be of great value in studies for the evaluation of proposals related to the teaching of cultural heritage. 🗯 Today we present the NOVA UNIVERSITY LISBON! NOVA University Lisbon (NOVA) was founded on August 11, 1973. Integrated in a project of expansion and diversification of higher education, NOVA adopted, from the start, a structural model considered new and innovative in the Portuguese university context. It has nine schools scattered across 4 municipalities in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area that cover various areas of knowledge in the social, health and technological sciences. NOVA is a decentralized University, which means that its Schools enjoy a high degree of autonomy, namely administrative and financial, and have their competences defined in the law and in their respective statutes. In 2017, NOVA became a public foundation under private law, and with this transformation it has now more institutional autonomy, especially with regard to its financial, estate and human resources management. NOVA has about 25,000 enrolled students, of which 20% are foreign students, and offers 40 bachelor's degrees and over 200 masters’ and doctoral programs. NOVA’s excellence is recognized in the main international rankings (Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Shanghai’s Academic Ranking of World Universities and Top 50 Academic World University Rankings), which reflects the efforts developed as a university committed to excellent teaching, research and innovation.

Now that I, as a paid PhD student at the University of Eastern Finland, have the resources and time to undertake a proper research work on my studies, I was able to reflect about my own positional academic identity: 👩🏽🏫🌎 I am a Brazilian immigrant residing in Finland and doing comparative research about teacher education in collaboration with Finnish and Brazilian teacher educators. I am also a mobile scholar that contributes to the complex process of brain drain and question myself about my own responsibilities within a globalized context. I have been also thinking about my PhD journey. And I saw myself endorsing North epistemic dominance through some of my methodological choices. For example, I used (without a critical perspective in comparative education and post-colonial studies) surveys originally developed by researchers from the Global North in contexts in the Global South. 👆🏾 Yes, the surveys were piloted-tested and adapted to the participants from the Global South, but they still contained the core ideas, principles, vocabulary etc. from the Global North researchers. And only now I understand that this can also be a type of epistemic dominance and methodological bias in comparative research. I am trying to course-correct my research practices with a more inclusive perspective and contribute to the comparative education landscape through my last manuscript (still in the oven, but ✨Keep an eye out for my upcoming publication!✨). And my hope is to contribute to a deeper reflexivity in the academic community regarding reproducing epistemic dominance in internationalization efforts. 🤓 Have you also considered if your research practices (questions, methods, analysis, and arguments) perpetuate or transcend inequity in the academic community?
