As a Georgia Native and a Veteran Football Player, I can't help but draw parallels between the recent turn of events in college football and the professional world, especially in real estate. The Georgia Bulldogs, once at the pinnacle of college football, found themselves unexpectedly out of the College Football Playoff, a stark reminder that being number one is a responsibility that requires consistent excellence and no room for complacency. In Colorado Springs' real estate market, this resonates deeply. Holding the top spot, be it in sports or business, isn't just about reaching the peak; it's about staying there. It demands dedication, adaptability, and the relentless pursuit of excellence, much like the Bulldogs' journey in football. UGA's story is a lesson for all of us in the real estate industry. Being the best isn't a one-time achievement but a continuous process of learning, evolving, and outperforming our own standards. It's about maintaining that edge, delivering top-notch service, and ensuring our clients always receive championship-level expertise and support. As we navigate the dynamic landscape of Colorado Springs real estate, let's carry the spirit of UGA football - always striving, always evolving, and never resting on our laurels. Here's to playing at the top of our game every day! #RealEstateExcellence #UGAFootball #RodRants

https://lnkd.in/gAJf4SSH This was written a few days ago..I agree with some of it..Syracuse, Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan State, North Carolina, N.C. State, Indiana, and Kentucky have the biggest venues used for college basketball games, but are they the most suited for college basketball fans and the college basketball culture..Some of the smaller arenas at Duke, Penn, and Butler have that old prestige and old school feel of college basketball and don't have the luxury suites..Some players like when the fans are near the court to cheer them on..Some arenas are not built that way..Some arenas are built to host hockey games and concerts and not just for basketball..The dimensions and feel for a hockey game is different than basketball..#eventmanagement #facilitymanagement #sportbusiness #marketing #hospitality 🏀 🗑 💺 🏟 📣 🆚 🏚 🏫

Lots of possibilties in this incredibly powerful ecosystem. We at Elevate are big believers in the combination of data science and storytelling to unlock maximum value.
Imagine if college sports had jersey patch deals. Elevate’s Insights and College Division has released estimated valuations for such a program. Alabama's Crimson Tide could rake in as much as $6 million for such a deal. Duke Blue Devils would lead the way for men's basketball at $2.2 million https://lnkd.in/gmPn4QXc

The old estate planning quote applies to the college football playoffs this year: “Fair isn’t Equal…” Great college football games this weekend and some teams were left out, notably, Florida State, which won its conference and went undefeated for the season. Amazing accomplishment no doubt. But other teams were more qualified to be there… all other teams had a much harder strength of schedule and won decisive conference championship games. Is it Fair that FSU is out? Probably not. Are they Equal? Meaning, can the current team - not “what if Jordan Travis was there?” - play with any of the 4 remaining teams? I seriously don’t think so. Neither did the committee or any odds / gambling site. Let’s see what they do against Georgia, a one loss team - who won 29 games in a row and back to back National Championships - and they are out…. If FSU can beat Georgia in the Orange bowl as 12 point underdogs then they have (or had) a great argument or maybe even get an asterisk this year. Next year, if FSU is this good, and I hope they are, they will be in the new 12 team playoff format and this debate is a non issue. But again, this year, as in most cases, fair isn’t equal!

🏝️ Establishing Trust in South Florida's Commercial Real Estate Scene: Drawing Parallels 🏝️ In the vibrant landscape of South Florida's commercial real estate, we've witnessed situations akin to the recent college football playoff controversy involving Florida State. Allow us to share an insightful analogy: 1️⃣ Decision-Making and Fairness: Just as Florida State raised questions about the fairness of the selection process, conflicts can arise in commercial real estate concerning matters such as property valuations, lease negotiations, investment choices and even commissions. Maintaining objectivity and fairness is of utmost importance. 2️⃣ Proven Performance versus Predictive Potential: In line with Florida State's emphasis on their on-field performance, the commercial real estate sector places value on a proven track record – encompassing historical rental income, occupancy rates, and property appreciation. Tangible metrics carry significant weight. 3️⃣ Preserving Credibility: Just as Florida State's Athletics Director expressed concerns about the impact on credibility, maintaining a strong reputation is critical in commercial real estate. Emphasizing transparency, data-driven decisions, and clear communication can prevent disputes and uphold trust. In the world of commercial real estate, our mission is to maintain our credibility by prioritizing fairness, objectivity, and trustworthiness. Upholding these principles helps ensure equitable outcomes and fosters trust among all parties involved. 🌐⚖️🤝💼 Let's continue building trust and achieving success in this dynamic industry! 💼🏙️ #CommercialRealEstate #TrustInBusiness #DecisionMaking https://lnkd.in/gWCCJKaQ

New Post: College football transfer portal grades: Texas, FSU get ‘A+’ but LSU finishes with ‘C+’ after window closes - https://lnkd.in/en4uK2pG Getty Images The spring college football transfer portal window has closed, and now it's time to evaluate how the game's most notable programs fared. We've already taken a look at things like winners and losers, top-10 classes and best fits. This piece is more of a grab-bag of how a selection of 12 household programs -- 12 being the operative number this year with the expanded College Football Playoff -- graded out. There is a mathematic calculation of the 2024 Transfer Rankings at 247Sports (where Ole Miss and Texas A&M are Nos. 1 and 2). We are taking into account whether the team filled its needs, got a good bang for its NIL buck, and how it managed its roster when constructing these grades. Spring transfer portal grades Stats Sport

Performance outcomes require perspective. Our daily reminder in sports: 🏀 March Madness is upon us. Strong performance can define a program. In recent years, New Jersey alone has a couple examples to point to (16-seed Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2023 or 15-seed Saint Peter's University in 2022). For larger schools, the performance from basketball won’t even begin to approach football’s contribution to operating revenues. 🏀 One of the most storied programs in the nation, The University of Kansas men’s basketball took in ~$18 million in 2023. 🏈 There football team has shown improvement of late but continues to be one of the least decorated in the Power Five. Football accounted for more than $45 million in total operating revenue in that same year. Kansas is not unique among basketball powerhouses. Indiana, Kentucky and Louisville each invested close to ~2x (or more) on their men’s football program versus their respective men’s basketball team. 📈 In markets, investors are likely to see higher returns this year from their cash and fixed income allocations than they’ve seen in recent decades. That said, equities have been and continue to be the driver of long-term returns and return expectations. Everyone loves a good Cinderella story this time of year (like cash returning 5+%), but programs are invested in keeping up over the long-term in the new era of college athletics. #MarchMadness #CFB #Returns #SportsAdvisors

The concept this week. You don’t need luck; you need to do your best. As a football fan, I always look forward to the upset victories. Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals have made it increasingly difficult for smaller colleges to compete with the traditional powerhouses in the current college football landscape. Insert Northern Illinois’ upset victory over #5 Notre Dame. Notre Dame paid NIU almost 1.5 Million dollars to play them in South Bend, under the pretense that they would win big. As the number 5 ranked college football program in the country, Notre Dame was favored to win by four touchdowns against NIU. Last week, Notre Dame beat nationally ranked Texas A&M in College Station, and everyone believed that the Fighting Irish were on their way to the College Football Playoffs. Not so fast, my friends (Lee Corso Voice). NIU’s starters were primarily juniors and seniors who had been in the program for a long time. They know exactly what’s required; they have 10k+ hours in the program. After NIU beat ND, the post-game reporter asked the NIU head coach, Thomas Hammond, what he shared with the team to inspire them to win. Hammond responded, “I told my team we didn’t need luck; we just needed our best.” Don’t bet on luck this week if you don’t have to. Trust and believe in your best. Believing and obsessing about improving your best helps you avoid being outcome-oriented, keeps you present, and helps you progress towards that ‘big opportunity’. Look at this post-game interview! I love College Football for this reason. #MusaMonday #MondayMotivation

Major college football programs spare no expense when it comes to facility upgrades and enhancements, but the arms race's positive effects on recruiting slowed down in recent years. With more elite-level prospects preferring NIL conversations over where they spend most of their training sessions, athletic departments are forced to re-evaluate priorities in a new era. That doesn't mean significant enhancement to football-only facilities have stopped, however. Many of the nation's top programs in the College Football Playoff race have locker rooms, training areas, and indoor practice fields that rival their NFL brethren, many at a cost of $100 million-plus. Here are the Top 30 according to Brad Crawford writing for 247Sports: https://lnkd.in/gX2zycCv #collegefootball #football #stadiums

9moIMHO it's also a lesson about existing in a bad system and [probably] not working hard enough to change it. D1 CFB's method of determining a champion has been broken/horrible for decades. Everyone knew it, yet college presidents, athletic directors, the NCAA and coaches didn't change it. And now the big losers are the fans and players, especially of UGA and other big football schools.
