This recognition comes as part of the NutraIngredients Awards, set to be presented in Geneva on May 15. Celebrating its pioneering Go Zero action plan, Finzelberg aims to significantly reduce CO2e emissions, contributing to global sustainability goals. I'm delighted to share a significant milestone in our journey to unite the agri-food community in Working Together for a Planet of Plenty™. As we often mention, the first 2 words of our mission are the most important: "Working Together". Without partnership we won't achieve anything. National Dairy Farms and Masakin Dairy Farms, both owned by Emirates Food Industries (EFI), are renowned for their exceptional Hayatna milk brand. Today, I'm delighted to announce their expanded commitment to sustainability through a #PlanetofPlenty partnership with Alltech Middle East. This collaboration is the result of years of dedicated work alongside EFI. Through this partnership, National and Masakin will leverage Alltech E-CO2 technology to precisely measure their environmental impact, enabling data-driven decisions and ambitious carbon footprint reduction targets. Our advanced nutritional technologies will also reduce methane emissions, enhancing farm profitability through improved feed efficiency and increased milk production. I want to personally thank all involved for their efforts and willingness to collaborate. Additionally, this initiative precedes COP28 UAE, the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai later this year, where global leaders, policymakers and experts will address climate change and formulate strategies. Recent findings from the GFI have shown that European governments have committed to invest more than £400 million in the alternative protein industry. This investment is part of a larger global trend recognizing the importance of alternative proteins in creating a sustainable future for food. Despite facing challenges such as regulatory uncertainties like Italy's proposed ban on cultivated meat, we remain optimistic. We believe that by working closely with our industry-leading partners and advocating for strategic vision and clear regulations across the world, we can fully embrace this opportunity and secure a brighter, more sustainable future. Together, we can drive change towards reducing climate emissions through the use of alternative proteins.
