At EY, we’re committed to working alongside elected representatives to tackle society’s most pressing issues – and following yesterday’s UK General Election, we look forward to engaging with the new government and fresh cohort of MPs to drive positive change. I’d also like to thank those that served in the previous government, with whom we were fortunate enough to work. Looking ahead, I’m optimistic about the UK’s growth prospects. A national commitment to skills development means the country is well-positioned to meet the demands of a rapidly changing global economy. A strong footing in emerging sectors like AI and biosciences means the UK is often setting the pace of global advancement. And the UK also remains a top European destination for investment, thanks to a stable business climate and progressive outlook. Capitalising on these strengths will require a concerted effort between policymakers and the business community to further enhance the UK's standing as a robust, agile and high-growth economy on the international stage. #UKGeneralElection #GeneralElection #UKEconomy #Growth #EY #BetterWorkingWorld   Hywel Ball Frank O'Keeffe Julie Teigland Janet Truncale Kathryn Barrow Omar Ali Anna Anthony Jad Shimaly Raj Sharma Andy Baldwin Benoit Laclau Stuart Gregory Silvia Rindone Laura Mair Hanne Jesca Bax Catherine Friday Stig Thorgersen

I completely agree that the UK's commitment to skills development and emerging sectors like AI and biosciences will play a crucial role in driving the country's growth prospects. However, I also believe that it's important for policymakers and the business community to prioritize sustainability and social responsibility in their efforts to enhance the UK's standing on the international stage. By working together to address pressing societal issues, we can create a truly robust, agile, and high-growth economy that benefits everyone.

Love the post and the sentiment Rohan Malik - You start one of your paragraphs with ‘Looking ahead’ and that is key. Regardless of who people voted for, we want our nation to succeed and ensure people are treated fairly! I always remind my boy (since he was 3) that, if we spend too much time looking backwards, we will crash. Yes, we learn from the past, but we have to #drive the #future! We have to be a part of that change as leaders, and if we have the ear of key people, let’s use that positively - Many of us are involved in #transformation, and that’s what our nation (and the world) will go through forever - let’s ensure that the #purpose is the right one. Finally, let’s empower and #inspire the future and get them more involved - too many of the ‘younger generation’ are despondent, disillusioned, and and have refused to vote. We have to #empower them to drive the change that’s required for their future… I’ll get off my soap box now!
