a4ESSOR SAS welcomes NATO’s decision to adopt the ESSOR High Data Rate Waveform as interoperability standard. NATO member countries now have advanced technology at their disposal for secure and high-speed tactical communications. Lino Laganà, President and General Manager of a4ESSOR, said: “The adoption of the ESSOR HDRWF waveform is a source of great satisfaction for our international team, which is proud to see its work recognised by the most important military organisation in the world. NATO’s ratification concludes a development cycle that was conceived according to a visionary approach to interoperability that remains unique worldwide. The development cycle was performed by an exceptional team that was able to operate in a cohesive and supportive manner, despite comprising professionals from six different companies in six different countries. For 25 years, NATO Allies and partners have gathered at the Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXercise (#CWIX), #NATO's largest interoperability exercise, to test the technology and standards needed to exchange and share information across all domains. Quantum technology in security and defense is identified as a key emerging technology whose potential applications can allow it to expand its capabilities. These technologies are getting closer to revolutionizing the world of innovation and could change the rules of security, including modern warfare. For any new innovative technology, it is necessary to set the right strategic approach. The NATO Quantum Strategy is the first strategic document approved by the NATO Foreign Ministers, as in January 2024. NATO published a summary of the document. The strategy outlines how quantum can be applied to defense and security, and helps promote and guide NATO‘s collaboration with industry to develop a transatlantic quantum technology ecosystem. Quantum technology is one of the technology areas that NATO Allies prioritize, and it is therefore necessary for all countries to develop a clear approach to development and deployment. #quantumcomputing #quantumcryptography #quantumsecurity

OHB Digital Connect GmbH, a subsidiary of the space and technology group OHB SE, has been commissioned by the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) in Koblenz to regenerate the UHF DAMA control station in Kastellaun. The abbreviation UHF stands for “Ultra High Frequency” and refers to electromagnetic waves in the frequency band from around 300 megahertz to 3 gigahertz. DAMA stands for “Demand Assigned Multiple Access”. This is a technology for temporarily allocating communication channels to different users according to demand. “Following the realisation of the UHF control station in Gerolstein, we are delighted that we now have the opportunity to contribute our expertise once again to the construction in Kastellaun,” says Wilfried Wetjen, head of the Communications Systems department at OHB DC. The Kastellaun UHF control station is part of SATCOMBw, the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces) satellite-based communications system and a central resource for UHF troop communications. We are thrilled to announce that VTT is joining NATO's DIANA network! 🤝🌐 A new accelerator and two test centres in Finland will help companies develop technologies for a peaceful future. - VTT is setting up a DIANA accelerator in Otaniemi, Espoo, in collaboration with Aalto University and the University of Helsinki.
