A good overview to read

One has two simple choices when in the face of great evil. Bow one's head and look away as much of the world did in the run-up to WWII, or stand tall and be heard. They probably would have said the same thing on the day after 9/11. I also will share two quotes from Congressman Rep. Jake Auchincloss, a retired Marine, and representative from Massachusetts who wrote two things to consider, "Peace is the ultimate objective, but peace is not possible when terrorists take hostages." "calls for de-escalation are premature. The United States did not de-escalate after Pearl Harbor. Israel requires the military latitude to re-establish deterrence and to root out the nodes of terrorism in Gaza."

LinkedIn isn't the platform I normally go to when it comes to issues of politics, religion, or personal beliefs. I try to keep it personable, but always respectfully diplomatic. The horrific events experienced by Israelis from Hamas over the past five days, however, demand a vocal response from each of us, across every channel. This is terrorism. This is unjustifiable cruelty and barbarism, and it comes today in the form of antisemitism and the stated goal of the annihilation of the Jewish people. The world cannot be silent or neutral in the face of such evil. I stand with countless family and friends. I stand with colleagues, industry peers, humanitarians, innovators, brilliant thinkers, and world leaders. I stand with Israel. Intentionally targeted children's hospital - a genocide against Ukrainians Many Ukrainian families have visited this hospital Okhmatdyt at least once—whether for a child's emergency, consultation, surgery, or to visit a friend And today... russia fired over 40 missiles at Ukraine, and one of them heavily damaged Okhmatdyt. Okhmatdyt is the largest children's hospital in Ukraine, annually treating more than 20,000 children from all over the country. The missile completely destroyed the operating rooms, entire toxicology wing, and life-saving equipment. Other buildings were also damaged. The children have been evacuated to other hospitals. The number of victims is currently not finalized. Kyiv residents have come together to clear the debris. This barbaric shelling is further evidence that Ukraine is fighting terrorists and is struggling for its very existence and future of the children. Supporting Israel in These Challenging Times As the world watches, recent events have once again brought Israel to the forefront of international news. These attacks are a sobering reminder of the challenges and threats that the Israeli people face on a regular basis. Our hearts ache for the innocent lives affected, for the families that have been torn apart, and for a nation that has to constantly defend its right to exist. Israel, like any other sovereign nation, has the right to peace, security, and a future free of fear. The resilience of the Israeli people is unparalleled. Throughout history, they have faced adversity and have always emerged stronger, united, and determined. Their spirit is a testament to their enduring will and the hope they hold for a peaceful future. We stand firmly with Israel, not out of blind allegiance, but because we recognize the genuine threats they face and their undeniable right to defend themselves. We condemn any form of violence and terrorism, and we believe in Israel's quest for peace with its neighbors. In these trying times, it's essential for the international community to come together and support peaceful resolutions. I will #NeverForget 9/11, and now 10/7 and 10/8 will join that day and live on in infamy. As I sit here 5,000 miles away, I can't help but feel two things: (1) complete awe at my incredible Israeli friends and colleagues' resolute courage and (2) powerless at my inability to do more for them. These are some of the smartest, hardest-working, and kindest people I've worked with in my career. Friends, know that we are with you, and we are sending wishes for your freedom and safety. Absolutely disgusted to see the UK, US and other western countries have paused funding for the UN Relief Organisation in Palestine after allegations made by Israel that 7 out of the tens of thousands of employees of this organisation may have been involved in the events of October 7th. Interesting firstly that these countries have decided to take drastic actions on the basis of simple allegations made by Israel, a state constantly caught lying about such events. What is even more strange is that these allegations come days after Israel attacked a UNRWA training centre in which many Palestinians were killed as a result. Coincidence? The hypocrisy of the West is on clear display. Allegations made by Israel are enough to pause funding yet documented evidence of Israel committing war crimes won’t even lead to a demand for ceasfire. Instead these countries continue to provide weapons to satisfy Israeli bloodlust. Although I am hesitant to post, “Staying silent in the face of suffering doesn't help anyone.” On October 7, 2023, the war in israel started by Hamas terrorists’ surprise attack on Israel’s border communities. Innocent civilians have lost their lives, been injured, kidnapped and are being held hostage. This is sickening. Here are a few ways to support: 1. Donate to Israeli organizations providing aid and support to victims and families affected by the attacks. 2. Share news and information about the situation, so that more people understand the reality of this conflict. 3. Speak out against antisemitism and hate speech, which only fuel the ongoing violence. 4. Show empathy for those who have lost families, friends, and loved ones in the tragedy. 5. Share what you're doing and encourage others to join in. Every small act of kindness and advocacy counts.
