But one thing we can all agree on - this new NBCUniversal park in Orlando looks AMAZING. Similar competitors breed innovation and, especially in Orlando, all three major companies are always trying to come out with the best new ride/show/park. https://lnkd.in/e7vZTRB5 The "theme park wars" continue as always and Central Florida, the industry's largest market, continues to gain media attention, especially among those who speculate on the "rivalry" between the two largest theme park destination resorts in that market- Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort. The attached from The Motley Fool offers that the upcoming Universal Epic Universe theme park's debut in 2025 "could be a blessing in disguise" for Walt Disney World. Considering every major addition in the market has traditionally increased business for all of Florida's major industry players, that's a safe bet:)

Disneyland, launched on 17th July 1955 by Walt Disney in Anaheim, California, was a groundbreaking concept in family entertainment.  Opening with just 18 attractions, it drew in 28,000 visitors on its first day. As Disneyland grew in popularity, it continually expanded, adding new rides, themed lands, and attractions to captivate audiences.  Over the decades, ticket prices have steadily increased to keep up with demand and the park's enhancements.  Despite the rising costs, the number of visitors has consistently surged, reaching over 18 million annually. Let’s talk here for a moment about the international & domestic parks for The Walt Disney Company: If you haven’t been following along as Tokyo Disney Resort just recently held their media previews & even a soft opening period (temporarily) for what is featured inside of the Fantasy Springs expansion for Tangled/Frozen/Peter at TDS, (estimated to be worth up towards 2-billion yen). As it will be making its official debut on June 6th, 2024 (and you will need a Premier Access or if you bought the Fantasy Springs vacation package in order gain priority access on Day One, that sold out previously in the year). Personally between the international & domestic parks, for what is difference/the same or what the domestic parks don’t over here & thus creates negative tension for the fandom in terms of wanting something over in the States. But clearly goes to show how much of Walt Disney Imagineering divisions are different, between the creative & business side for how much they are willing to invest & their local govt’s etc. What you guys feel about this? Since I posted about Disney's "This Is Magic" campaign and how I would've arrived to that creative, I thought I'd share my thoughts on Universal Orlando Resort's take on how a vacation in Orlando should be like. Here's how I would've arrived at Universal's "It's more than magic. It's real." creative. Campaign: "It's more than magic. It's real." Target audience: Tourists and families who perceive theme parks as not a "real vacation". Consumer problem: Tourists with families don't go to Universal because it doesn't provide a "magical experience". Insight: Magic isn't real, so magical experiences are often artificial or fake. Advantage: Universal positions themselves as a place where movies come to life, as in real life. Strategy: Show tourists that they can experience something real at Universal Orlando by showing them real experiences make a longer lasting impression than magical ones.
